The author does a good job with DC Karen Hart and her team. This time, her over eager trainee took a risk that got her seriously injured, and no one knew what she was working on and why she was in such a precarious place.

Ok
The narration is problematic, but it is not so bad I could not finish it. As long as it was free from Kindle Unlimited I could listen to it. if I had paid for it I would have gotten my money back. I don't like that the author continues to write Sophie in escapades because in a real police squad she would not still be doing anything other than research and anything to do in the office. She does not do the field things properly. She says and does the wrong thing far too often so she would not have as many chances as she gets in these books. I was sorry she was hurt but she was not doing things the right way.

Good Addition to the Series
I forgot how slow paced this series was. It was soothing and full of details. Although I found it hard to believe that a seasoned gangster would show fear to a cop. Other than that, this was a good addition to the series.
