The films, TV shows, and music of the '60s, '70s, and '80s are still as classic and timeless as they were long ago. The TV shows and movies were family-friendly, yet interesting and exciting, leaving the viewer breathless and anxiously awaiting the next episode or sequel.
TV and film directors knew that science fiction could be mind-bending yet thought-provoking, and horror could actually be frightening but instill that sense of fear without the obligatory graphic violence, pervasive language, and sexual overtones to bring their vision to life. The music had a much deeper meaning to it, at times conjuring visions of everything from eternal love and loss to warm summer days and fields of flowers and magnificent sunsets, hanging out with your best friends at the local fast-food joint thinking the good times will last forever, the horrors of war, and the quest for peace in troubled times.
In Blast from the Past, author David Boyer chats with 10 different TV and film stars and musicians, pioneers in their own right, who give their own personal insight into their iconic roles and music, evoking memories from a time when TV, film, and music provided quality entertainment that came from the heart and the genius of those involved.
