Breaching Barriers.. Enjoyable & Educative!
What made the experience of listening to Breaching Communication Barriers the most enjoyable?
Breaching is rich with educative examples from the author's experiences and other successful communicators and leaders' ones. She simplifies the information and presents them in interesting way.
What about Mayr Berry’s performance did you like?
Mayr's performance is great! Her narration grabbed my attention, and as a non-native speaker of English, I understood what she says easily..
What did you learn from Breaching Communication Barriers that you would use in your daily life?
The audiobook highlights important ideas and subjects. The first lesson I've learned is that mindful communication is something to be earned with knowing, experience and work. And although some of us are natural leaders, the rest who are not can learn to be. The second is how vital are communication skills for personal and business relationships. There is also the "communication vs technology" issue. I have been reminded that I should be aware of the both sides of technology's effect on us. Another subject grabbed my attention strongly is how and what it means to be a good listener. I haven't known that listening has types, levels and needs learning and training, although communication skills were part of my study at the university. I also enjoyed the intercultural communication aspect. It would be great to be able to communicate with others from different places and cultures effectively and easily.

Essemtial tool to become a skillful communicator
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I will definately recommend this audiobook to a friend because it allows the listener to see not only the importance of communication skills, but also to determine the structure or the technique for building those skills. The author brilliantly leads the listener to a strategy how to generate ideas for improving various types of communication skills by allowing the listener to look through her vision and own experience. In this way, we can acknowledge the crucial importance of mastering the good communication skills for effectiveness in every field — the business world or your personal life.
What other book might you compare Breaching Communication Barriers to and why?
M. Berry is suggesting a strategy of how the gender may influence communication effectiveness and how women may manage this environment of male dominance or culture differences. To gain power and success in male-dominated fields, some women have adopted communication means “to behave and talk...like many men do,” according to George F. Simons and Deborah Weissman, authors of Men and Women: Partners at Work. Therefore, M. Berry’s theory that women are aggressive in communicating and men are more passive well fits the current trends of how women find ways to overcome these differences at the work place. The author is offering not only a clear strategy in theory, but she also offers the basic of how to master these skills.
Have you listened to any of Mayr Berry’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, I have listened other performances by M. Berry. I find the current audiobook very practical and responsive to a large audience to build effective communication skills from the early stage of individual’s growth towards the adulthood.
What did you learn from Breaching Communication Barriers that you would use in your daily life?
This audiobook helped me to build bridges towards new experiences in communication with my colleagues, friends, companies, etc. This is a nessecity for my professional success in my own company, as well as in my personal life in order to achieve better recognition in society as a whole. Breaching Communication Barriers is certainly offering a wide variety of actions how to achieve this.
Any additional comments?
I highly recommend M. Berry’s audiobook because it is the right tool that can lead everyone to verious skills to control communication as a whole, not to be controlled by it. This audiobook is a key for succeeding in every field of humnan’s life.
