Lovely story, heart wrenching and exciting all together wonderful!

Take a walk in someone else's shoes. Imagine your normal daily life turned upside down, no fault of your own, but due to the color of your skin, today you are no longer welcome and now ridiculed. The attack on Pearl Harbor changed the lives of Japanese Americans. Join this this family on their journey. You will be glad you invested your time.

Touching story of American Japanese

Great story of American Japanese around World War II period and the ordeal for POW.

Captivating

Loved the story along with the other books I’ve read by this author. The performance was wonderful, as well.

narrator didn't match

The story was good, but the narrator made it sound like a young adult or juvenile fiction book.

Thoroughly Enjoyed

The narration by Ms. Cooney was excellent. I loved it when she spoke in Japanese. There are many stories about the internment camps and their occupants, but this story was my favorite! I would highly recommend this book.
