Things aren’t going so well. For one, the guy didn’t work out. Theoretically, she’d love to find someone else, but it hasn’t happened. Two, she’s just been transferred out of Oncology for being too emotional. (Is it her fault she’s a weeper?) Three, her parents just split up. Deviating from the plan was … well, not in the plan. A potential solution comes from the foul-tempered surgeon Lorenzo Santini.

For those of us who don’t mind a string silent type
Don’t let the negative reviews sway you. I almost didn’t listen to this book (even though I’m a huge fan of the Kristan Higgins/Xe Sands combo) because of the reviewers who said that Malone was not a good male lead because he didn’t have character development. But I disagree, he’s not very talkative but I think Kristan still develops his character enough that he’s very likable. Maybe it’s the small town girl in me, but I enjoyed that he didn’t speak much but was a man of actions instead. I also thought he was a good match for the run-away-at-the-mouth Maggie. It was an easy listen and Xe Sands was amazing as always.

Don't Go Fishing
Would you try another book from Kristan Higgins and/or Xe Sands?
Yes. I have enjoyed both before. This one just didn't work for me in any way.
Would you ever listen to anything by Kristan Higgins again?
Yes. This is the first one that I have found disappointing.

Too abrupt an ending
Enjoyed the story but felt let down at the end. Looking for an epilogue or additional chapter to expound on the happy ending, but disappointed it didn’t come.

Perfect
I loved this book. I was rooting for Malone from the time he gave her the first ride home. Loved how the writer made Father Tim so normal, not just a struck man of the cloth.

Hated when it ended…
Laugh, cringe, cry…I could listen to Ms Higgins books all day, and have. Xe Sands doesn’t disappoint. I must book a trip to Maine!

Maggie is not easy to like, in fact she's almost annoying in her cluelessness.
I want to get out and push this one. It's got legs and a great narrator but not a good one for Kristan.
