You can’t really predict the end from the beginning, I like that. All the interviews on love are thought-provoking. The author does a good job of stimulating thought while weaving a darling story. The time flew by, definitely worth the listen. The performers did a fabulous job.
So I have to wonder… Do men really talk and think like the main male character? I haven’t met one yet, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist!

This was more like a sweet and intriguing story with romance thrown in as opposed to a romance novel. The character development was interesting and heartwarming. The story held my attention throughout the whole book. There are nice twists, you don’t see them coming. I read books that are happy and end happy and this book did not disappoint. It’s a “clean“ novel, no sex scenes, and no swearing, very refreshing. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

There was nothing to dislike about this audible performance. It’s not really a book, it’s performed as if it were live theater. The actors are fabulous; the production paid great attention to audio detail to set an audio stage for the production that was also fabulous. The characters were real and relatable, you found yourself rooting for them all along and laughing out loud as their adventures unfolded. Not everything in the story was predictable, and I really liked that as well. I come to Audible partly for entertainment, and this gets a perfect score for the entertainment factor.

Very sweet story. Main characters were delightful. Would have been five stars but there were so many characters with the large family that it was difficult to keep track of who was who because the story wasn’t long enough to develop any characters beyond the two main characters, so it was easy to get confused. Also, I thought the story really needed the chapter on the proposal reenactment at the main character was to photograph. I think it could have added a lot to the story and set the stage for the things that were to follow.Still, I very much enjoyed it, the meet cute was a nice twist and the narrators did a great job!

Slow Slow Slow Moving

This book starts out painfully slow both in character development and plot. I stuck with it hoping it would pick up speed but it never really did. I stuck with it to the end and the pace did pick up a bit towards the end. This book is certainly not commensurate with her other books. I loved the Blue Heron series, this one not so much. Not sure I will listen to the other two books. I gave the narrator three stars only because of her wide variety of dialects, and capturing the Maine dialect especially. However her portrayal of the main character, I thought, missed the mark. Except for rare moments, the main character sounded whiny and pretty much pathetic throughout the book.

Reviews Misleading

I typically don’t write reviews but this one needs a review…I was curious when I read all the view reviews before purchasing this book. They seem to be on the same days with the same voice, meaning language usage. My experience of this book was quite different than the reviews. The information was highly repetitious, and the narrator was pretty much unbearable. He has a singsong voice, and a condescending edge as if he’s trying to teach a kindergartner how to sharpen a pencil. Still, I finished the book and gave it 2 stars because there was some useful information in it. The title seems to imply the book will equip you to begin your life as an investor, yet one of the first conclusions is to hire a financial advisor don’t do this yourself. I believe a higher rating would be obtained if you read this book instead of listened to it. Some of the material lends itself better to a written format than an audible format such as the tedious repetition of calculations. Who’s going to remember all those when you’re mowing the lawn or driving on the highway! But, in a book format it could work for you. If your goal is just to understand the world of investing so that you can have intelligent talks with your financial planner, I think this is your book (if you can bear the narrator). I was looking for something different.

What did you love best about Zero Limits?
I love this book! I try to listen to it once per year. The story of the development of Ho'o'ponopono and it's application to the correctional institution is fascinating. I love hearing it every time, especially knowing it was all documented. It inspired me to meet Dr. Len in person, a memorable event in my life. The book teaches you how to do the practice for yourself. Its quite simple once its explained. I use it a lot when I bump into things that aren't going right. or nasty people, etc. Its transformational. The true genius behind this book is Dr. Len; Joe captures his story for him and has done a nice job.

Who was your favorite character and why?
This is a non-fiction book, so of course Dr, Lin was my favorite "character" even though he's a real person. I gave 4/5 stars on story b/c it's not wholly a story.

Any additional comments?
If you are not ready or willing to examine your role in misfortune, then this book is not for you. If you are, be ready for growth, for restoration, and living life on a new and higher plain.

What made the experience of listening to On Dublin Street the most enjoyable?

At first I thought I had wasted a credit, but since I was stuck in my car with no other good entertainment alternative I let it go on, and I am sure glad I did. It built wonderful momentum and the story was delightful. The author had new twists throughout the story culminating in an ending I greatly enjoyed. I was sad to see this book end. Sequel?

What about Paula Costello’s performance did you like?

Her Scottish accent was unbelievable She captured the tone of all the characters brilliantly.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The profanity in the beginning was a shock. By the second half of the book I was so engaged with the characters some scenes brought tears to my eyes. Opportunities to laugh exist throughout the book.

Content better suited for the book

The book conatins good practical finance information for the non-finance person. However, the subject matter better lends itself to a book format where you can work through the examples. Verbal math is trying, especially given the reader. There's a reason finance guys aren't narrators. Skip the audio, thumb through the book and if it looks helpful, buy it in printed version.

Academic with a boring read

If you really need this information, read the book and avoid the reader. It's more like an expaneded glossary, which can be helpful. The concepts may work better when you can view examples or workout ideas of you own on paper. At best it felt like a "C-" MBA essay read by a disengaged reader. I couldn't get passed the fisrt 5 minutes and wished I had saved my money.
