Resumen del Editor

From award-winning author Matt Cost comes a thrilling mystery about an Unexplained Aerial Phenomena (UAP) spotted in the skies over Port Essex, Maine.

The man—about 40, forearms like small oak trees, with a thick beard—told the bartender at the Pelican Perch, “It came right up out of the ocean, hovered just above the water for about 10 seconds, and then was gone.”

When Clay Wolfe and Baylee Baker are hired as the local liaisons for a government task force investigating the recent UAP sightings, things get complicated at lightspeed.

They’re also hired to find the missing Alice Smith, whose disappearance increasingly appears to have something to do with the UAPs—the source of which might just be a governmental defense contractor named Seagull Aviation.

But the more they investigate, the more questions pop up. Who is the assassin gunning for Wolfe and Baker? Who is the mysterious man code-named Arrow? When each witness who has seen one of the UAPs is reported missing, the stakes become sky-high.

Excellent Mystery with UFOs Simply WOW!

Clay Wolfe and his crack team of investigators are hired to act as liaisons for a government-led task force investigating a couple of UAP sightings (Unexplained Aerial Phenomena i.e. UFOs) over Port Essex, Maine. Romances have gone wrong, a couple of deaths, and a serial killer later finds both Clay and his team fighting for their lives.

Matt Cost, the author, is methodical in his weaving of a vibrant thriller with breathtaking plot complications. Each repeating and main character is consistent in their development and growth. Cost portrays Clay Wolfe as a strong character yet flawed in many ways. The sexual tension between Wolfe and his co-investigator is strong and head-shaking as neither one is willing to admit or make the first move. Wolfe continues to be emotionally distant until the job is done, and the culprit is brought to justice. The plot twists are unexpected, especially around Fletcher Cox … wow is all I can say!

The narrator, Jason Arnold slips each character on easily and completely. I enjoy the tonal inflections and energy he puts into telling the story accurately and vividly. His performance keeps the listener engaged and on the edge of their chairs from beginning to end.

In this book, I feel Matt Cost finally shows a much darker side to his creativity and thoughts. I highly recommend this thriller!

Action Packed!

Matt Cost tells a thrilling mysterious tale with Cosmic Trap. This book is part of the A Clay Wolfe / Port Essex Mystery Book series, and this is volume four. I did read the print version of the story, and enjoyed it, but I also really enjoyed this audiobook. This narration really brought this story to life.Clay is a private investigator, that moved to the small town of Port Essex years ago, from Boston. He used to be a homicide detective, and his cases here in Maine, seem to be more than he expected from a small town. And with this story, who expects Unexplained Aerial Phenomena (UAP) to be flown over Maine. Clay and Baylee, his partner, now have a task initiated by the government, to be part of this task force, regarding UAP. With this new type of case for them, and its involvement with government agencies, the danger level for the duo has increased. It's my favorite of the four stories, though I enjoyed listening to each one. Full of twists and hidden assassins, and witnesses disappearing. Unexplained Aerial Phenomena (UAP). This story captures the reader's attention at chapter 1. A very unpredictable story, my favorite kind! Breathtaking and compelling! Cosmic Trap is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I listened to this book to give my unbiased and honest review. Amy's Bookshelf Reviews recommends that anyone who listens to this book, to also write a review.
