Incredible classic epic fantasy

This one shoots straight onto my favorites list. Superb story and narration.

The characters and relationships here really stand out, especially the friendship between our main characters Aram and Markus.

So good. Easy 5 stars.

Mind blowing experience

This is an extraordinary roller-coaster ride of fantasy. I struggled to turn it off and even ended up late for work because it kept me up through the night. so excited for the next adventure. totally worth every dollar, minute, second everything!!! the only thing better than the story was the performance. A++!!

Great book loved it!!!

I hope that this is not the end of the story. It was quite a great adventure, anxiously awaiting the next in the series.

Aram

I should have loved this book but Aram being dumb and naive the whole book just doesn't sit right. The fact he was building social skills before the cellar than reverts back is not even the worst part. Then the friends that risked their lives to free him from the cellar with Marcus. Go to war and have no problem trying to kill them how does that make sense. Then the whole war how can you be at war but one side is at a huge disadvantage getting killed and slaughtered. Did the other side not know. This had potential but it fell far from the mark

Flawed but still a great read

I loved these characters and the story. There were some issues throughout but not large enough to take away from my enjoyment.

It’s hard to find books this good that I haven’t already read/listened to, this is a great one!

It read like a classic fantasy about a neurodivergent boy. Barring a few moments in the beginning, plot and happenings were predictable but fun. Do not feel strongly about reading the next installment.

Goodreads doesn't have the audiobook version listed yet, as it was just released today. I was lucky to obtain an early audiobook through a giveaway from the author, and agreed to give it a fair review if I read it.

For some reason, dragons on the cover, in the title, and as a focus in the story don't ignite that desire to read a book for me, that they do for most fans of the fantasy genre. I think they look cool and all, I don't dislike them, I guess dragons just aren't my thing.

So, I'm glad to say I eventually gave it a go and from the start, I knew this was looking good. My hesitancy was quickly given an eviction notice and I couldn't believe how into the story I became. Never have knots been such an interesting subject and a knot cave seem like a natural life progression for me.

For the audiobook fan, I have to mention what a great job Ben Farrow did. A perfect choice and the first time I've heard him narrate. To compare his voiceand style to someone is easy, as I have been getting echos of Jim Dale's narration of the HP series all throughout, and I loved it. There was even some echos of that heavy tension, and hope present in Dragon Mage. I can see why this book has gotten a notable presence in my emails from my subscriptions to the thousands of bloggers I subscribe to.

There was a lot of orginality here and the main character was one that I wanted to befriend, and share this adventure with. In fact, the characters are so well written and then portrayed by Ben, that I was unable to turn the car off a couple times, and a few loads of laundry I washed, without actually putting anything in the washer. Great book and this series will be awesome, all the more so with such a great narrator for the audiobook lovers out there.

slow start but a great finish

A great start to a series. The main character takes awhile to develop but as time goes on and he develops you can't help but to root for him.

Could not stop listening.

Great detail. Can not wait for the next book in the series to come out.
