When Famka begins seeing visions of the imminent future, depicting the murder of her best friend, Ophelia, she realises all the responsibility for keeping her friend alive lies heavily on her.
This should be the happiest time of Famka‘s life. She has finally been invited to try out for the Sky Builders Guild. As a young witch, desperate to try out as many spells as she can, this is her chance to gain the license she needs to perform magic legally. It’s taken her a long while to get to this point, so she needs to ensure that nothing goes wrong.
Choosing to get involved with the Fallen Arts, like time travel, for instance, would be a very bad move. Only a handful of magic folks understand it fully. And the odds of her ever returning to her present timeline if she succeeds are stacked against her. But what’s a girl to do when her best friend’s life is at stake, and nobody else will help?
One thing’s for sure. Famka has a plan and she’s determined nobody’s going to stand in her way. She is prepared to break every last rule of the Sky Builder’s Guild to gain the time travel knowledge she needs. If she can find a way into the past, not only has she a chance of saving Ophelia, but she might also find out the truth about where her own parents have been all these years.
