What a great book!

I cannot wait for the 3rd book in this series. I enjoyed the 1st and 2nd so much.

hilarious and definitely a must read

I've come to really like the characters and their weird and, honestly, zany adventures. The whole side conversations between the characters and coming in and out of the narration didn't really bother me, though they some quotes were overused. Definitely worth a listen to.

just as good as the first

it is rare that a sequel in a trilogy is as engaging as the first but this was! delightful reading.

Theodora Goss you excel at finding, and creating, remarkable historic female characters. They are unique, usually harmonious, and a pleasure to spend time with.

Which is fortunate as it was a very long journey and short on action.

The leisurely pace is redeemed through the sheer novelty of bringing together Sherlock Holmes, Dracula, Frankenstein and making them secondary characters! Goss uses the world building/plots but keeps her focus on the women of The Athena Club.

A Truly Wonderful Book

Refreshingly original. I loved it. I also liked the characters giving hints to the end of the story. It made me feel like a detective trying to put everything together. I love how everything connects to things back in the first book. Masterfully written.
