Acerca de esta escucha

A humorous and philosophical trip through life from the New York Times best-selling coauthor of Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar....

Daniel Klein's fans have fallen in love with the warm, humorous, and thoughtful way he shows how philosophy resonates in everyday life. Listeners of his popular books, Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar... and Travels with Epicurus, come for enlightenment and stay for the entertainment.

As a young college student studying philosophy, Klein filled a notebook with short quotes from the world's greatest thinkers, hoping to find some guidance on how to live the best life he could. Now, from the vantage point of his eighth decade, Klein revisits the wisdom he relished in his youth with this collection of philosophical gems, adding new ones that strike chords with him at the end of his life.

From Epicurus to Emerson and Camus to the theologian Reinhold Niebuhr - whose words provided the title of this audiobook - each pithy extract is annotated with Klein's inimitable charm and insights. In this audio, our favorite jokester-philosopher tackles life's biggest questions, leaving us chuckling and enlightened.

Great Read and highly Recommend

“Every Time I Find the Meaning of Life, They Change It” is the second great read by Daniel Klein I have experienced and highly recommend. This is an overview of philosophers, throughout history, with Daniel Klein’s unique writing style and analysis in an insightful, witty, and often times humorous perspective. No heavy philosophical diatribes here, just a clean pithy observation mixed with some practical life experiences commentary on the “human” experience. It’s a great read and a way to experience the greatest philosophical thinkers with comments for practical living and further reading for more detail investigations. I hope I did not miss the point but I cam away with a good read; philosophy is not scientific; and humans should be spending more time “living in the present” with a knowledge of our past so as not to repeat bad decisions and looking to the future without a total focus because life is only one time and we should make the most of it and hopefully we will have many more pleasant memories than regrets. The narrator, James Jenner, was great and his reading of the book was in sync with the words and thoughts of the writing. The audio books also includes the reading of the authors “Glossary of Terms” and it was totally awesome, don’t miss it. Experienced as an Audio book.

Too much personal opinions on important topics.

Too much personal opinions on important topics. Could be a good book if the author wouldn't be so full of himself.
