The footnotes

Just like all of Mary Roaches books this is so well researched,interesting and funny. The only thing I didn't care for in this recording is that the footnotes were not read as they appear in the text as with other audio versions of her works.

Just when it’s needed

Mary Roach knows just when to lighten the mood on subjects that might otherwise bring me to tears. I wasn’t sure I’d make it through a book that I knew would involve animals dying, but she pulled it off.

Roach is always a great read/listen

Can we all be collectively thrilled that the author narrates it herself? Didn’t even look before listening and was pleasantly surprised to hear her voice. Hilarious as always and full of all kinds of fantastic information, even if it pisses you off.

Humorous and intriguing

This is my first book by this author. I will certainly be seeking more! Her writing style is humorous and curious. She asks the most engaging and unlikely questions, and describes her findings and experiences with irony and slightly self-deprecating humor. I would love to be her travel companion :p

Great book, Roach always seems to pull you into the scene like you’re in the middle of whatever weird side of society you didn’t know existed.

Mary did a fantastic job narrating. She should do us all a favor and read all of her books for us.

Her book and voice marvelous!

I have thourly enjoyed all of her books. Fuzz was really in my wheelhouse as a retired commercial fisheries biologist. I particularly liked her giving credit to hunters for paying for most wildlife management. I understand her confusion about hunters who 💘 wildlife. It's a conundrum I lived for my whole life and can't really explain. She leftout anglers contributions to wildlife management and woodlands preservation. There would be a good book in looking at the 🐟 & hunting management and it's contradiction-contributions.

Her books are fire!

She has yet to write something that I don’t absolutely love! Already looking forward to the next book journey.
