Can't give this a great review but it was helpful

I have to say that this book was useful in my study fro the GRE. I must have listened to it 15 times (at 3x speed, which is pretty easy to do since normal speed is pretty slow).

There are a couple things that bothered me quite a bit:

1 - Pronunciation, a few words probably at least 10-15 (out of 650 or so) to my ear were mis-pronounced during recording. I understand that these are not the easiest words to pronounce but if you are recording a book you should probably make sure you are pronouncing the words properly. Two specific examples that were driving me crazy:

Facetious was pronounced Facetous, it took me a while to figure that out
Exacerbate was pronounced Exasperate.... that one really got me

There were plenty of others (and possibly some I didn't catch)

2 - Sloppy Production - at least one word and possible more were repeated, i presume this was due to sloppy editing. Also, there were some spelling sections that I believe were skipping some letters (again some kind of recording/editing issue?).

I could probably go on a bit longer. However the bottom line is that I thought this was a valuable book. It did help me with studying. I just wish they could take a little more pride in their product and look more and some of the details.

convenient, helpful, monotone

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The speaker is very calming and speaks in a monotone type of voice. If you are lying down it is easy to go to sleep.

The list is very convenient because it says the word, spells the word, defines it and then uses the word in a sentence. I found it helpful to break the book into 50 word sections and write the words down as they were spelled out.

Misspelt words&wrong definitions. Great narrator.

This isn't a novel. No characters, just the narrator.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

yes. the narrator has a pleasant voice.

Not really.

Any additional comments?

It will really help if this audio book comes with a PDF of words because some words are spelt incorrectly and some definitions aren't correct due to rough editing.

e.g. extemporize was defined incorrectly, the book reads - 'to speak with preparation' whereas the true correct definition is 'to speak without preparation'.
There are more misspelt words, but I won't list them all.

Performance has a nice rapid pace, but still clear

The reader has a nice and clear voice. On the downside, she mispronounces between 5 and 10 percent of the words.

it's good for SEL, but it's better if there is PDF

it's good for English learning, but it will be better if there is PDF accompanied.

A lot of useful words for everyday life

I haven't taken the GRE yet, but I found that a lot of words here are pretty useful for everyday life.

Narrator did not pronounce all the words correctly

She also misspelled a couple of words which was irritating. Overall, it was helpful.

I think this is a great product and highly recommended it to all the students in need of increasing their vocabulary to reach their goals and to reach the level of their own potential and the way they speak and how they can write their own thoughts out

very helpful study tool for vocab words, especially if you have limited time. There were a few words that didn't have a sentence with the description, but overall this audiobook was pretty thorough.

Lacking in other choices, guess it works

As others have pointed out there are some serious pronunciation issues with some words and it sounds like it was recorded on an old school tape recorder in a drainage pipe. The format is excruciating at times, word-definition-sentence. Inexplicably each word is counted out loud prior to the word-definition-sentence rigamarole, so you can reflect on how many soul crushing times you've had this experience. There is a loud click/pop between words, which is also maddening. As soon as there is any other current GRE study material on Audible, this should be trashed. "Listen to its use in the following sentence...." Arrrgh!
