Great Book!

Steve's narration was really relaxing to listen to & his story is relatable and inspires people to just be who they are. I can't wait until my son is old enough to understand this 💙

Great Read

This book kept me entertained from start to finish. I enjoy Steve Hofstetter’s stand up so I figured I would enjoy the book & that was correct. Weather you remember high school fondly, or if it was torture, this book will speak to you.

10-year-old son LOVED it

He thoroughly enjoyed the whole story, the performance, all of it, only thought it should be longer :-)
It's very, very funny, but also gives a warm and fun and truthful, direct window onto being a teenage boy, with all that entails... entertaining, instructive, of great interest to at least this boy!

Steve has a story and I can't get enough!

Steve's autobiography is beautiful. he goes through pain but comes out funnier than ever. wit is his superpower and he uses it to navigate his world. he is the definition of being at the cause and not the effect. witty comebacks. off the top remarks. inspiring and every joke of his gives me hope that I can weather a storm even if it's full of shit. thank you Steve for this masterpiece.

Great for fans, really good to get to know Steve.

Fans of Steve Hofstetter will appreciate hearing this origin story and how he developed his finely-tuned comeback tool. And anyone who has been through high school will appreciate his funny and spot on take of all of the characters we remember, the ones we wish we were, and the ones we remember against our better judgment. You will recognize your own high school experience in one or more of the characters, and you will appreciate the journey that Steve has taken to being a premier improvisational and stand-up talent. A must – listen for fans, and a better-than-good introduction if you’ve never seen Steve perform.

A Masterpiece

Probably the best books I've read, or listened to. It really showed in depthe the development of one of my favourite comedians ever. He's shown himself to be a very compitent and very funny writer, at least to me. His struggles growing up, the types of challenges he had to overcome, and his many mistakes he made along the way made him extremely relatable and often likable. The way the good people in his life not only helped him improve but were also always there for him made Steve's personality one of the most relatable. The way his jokes didn't always stick, in the case of "Frankly Scarlet.." but sometimes were the funniest jokes I've heard in a while, an example being that last joke during the speech. The main lesson that Steve ends up learning is a very important lesson that everyone should learn and understand. I would recommend this book to anyone what isn't Theo, Philip, Doug, or any other jerks of the like. 11/10.

Everyone can relate to this coming of age memoir.

I listened to it in one sitting! Steve is a brilliant and engaging writer. I don't think there's a human that went to high school who can't relate to some of not all of this book! Well done sir!

Heart breaking and heart warming

Growing up is a painful business. We all gotta do it. This lovely book gives solace to those of us who’ve made the rough insecure trek into adulthood and hope to those currently enduring the journey. Well written and performed, Steve. Thank you, from a “still recovering from insecurity” fellow human.
