Sport is murder? Nope
This is just what I needed to get the most out of my pathetic performance, which is simply efficient training. This book has really taught me to exercise to enhance my feelings and senses and to achieve and consistently enter the flow state.
I can recommend the book to everyone, especially the common people who, after the Christmas holidays, will start training and maintaining performance afterward.
The narration of the book was good, with a motivational voice. The content, as discussed above, was adequate.

Reach your peak early

knowledge is power
As a runner, I always get these mental roadblocks while running that prevent me from hitting the times I want to hit. I'm not sure why I have these roadblocks because, PHYSICALLY, my body can (as I've done so before countless times)., but mentally, I cannot do so. I never understood why.
This book closed that gap and helped me understand why and how I can power my brain to clear my head and get in the zone.
Listening to this audiobook was like talking with a coach or mentor. I felt understood, and I felt hopeful too.
I cannot wait to start implementing the skills that I learned when I run my first half marathon in the summer.
You can tell the author poured every ounce of his heart and soul into this book. The concepts covered in this book are well-researched and clear.
I especially loved how the narration was easy to listen to too. I usually need a print copy in front of me but not with this audiobook- it was perfect!
Anyone who doesn't play sports can still find this audiobook very valuable. The techniques covered in this book will be helpful in the workplace or even before a test.
Truly a gem. I wish I had listened to this sooner.

Guides athletes with sensible principles to follow
I found this book surprising in some respects because the author is not always a follower of traditional paths on things like having coaches yelling endless advice from the sidelines, Instead he is intent on sharing advice that science indicates will work best in helping athletes to do their best. This includes enabling them to flow and function "in the zone" by trusting subconscious response to past training. I'd suggest that even "weekend warriors" will find the nine principles expressed here can help them to relax and improve at their sport. But high-level athletes and pros will undoubtedly get the most benefit from this very good book.

Great material for athletes
As an athlete who has been through every stage of athletic performance (junior, high school, D1 college, and professional), reading sports psych/athletic performance books are always a lot of fun. What I mostly took away from this book were skills and resources to find the elusive “zone.” I think it’s important for all athletes to understand that getting into the zone isn’t some magical place but we can practice and learn how to get there over and over again. This book outlines a lot of great ways to do so. The narrator is clear and concise. Overall enjoyable read with a lot of good takeaways whether you’re a developing athlete or need to revisit some of these ideas.

Excellent and Informative
This is a fantastic audiobook and my sons and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. It's as if you have a personal coach right in your pocket! Clear and useful information and insights set out in various sections that are easy to follow and understand. The author clearly knows his stuff and does an amazing job. The narration is great too and we learned a lot. I am a big believer in visualization and particularly enjoyed that aspect of the book. It's amazing to discover just how powerful our brains and minds are, and this book reveals crucial tips and strategies that have the potential to catapult you into success. Recommend!
