Suspenseful and captivating second chance romance!

His Second Chance by Carrie Ann Ryan is the sixth book in the Montgomery Ink Legacy series; however, each book can be read as a standalone. I must say that I am loving this series and can highly recommend every book. This one was narrated by Aiden Snow and Isabelle Ruther and they were absolutely amazing as Kane and Phoebe. Their story started with a bang and it was a wild ride from start to finish. I loved seeing how they met and getting to know how they felt for each other, what drew them apart and how they are now back in each other orbits again. These two were truly meant to be together, they just had to find the way they fit.

I loved how strong, determined, caring and protective Kane was. He gave of himself fully to those he loved and especially Phoebe. When her life is in danger, he will do whatever it takes to protect her. Phoebe loved Kane, but she needed to stand up for herself. She was resilient, just as determined, caring and kind. I loved these two together so much. Their journey was emotional, captivating and suspenseful. And the mid-blowing surprise, I was not prepared. All I can say is loved their story so much.

Good addition to this series

Talk about a relationship that started at hello! I enjoyed Kane and Phoebe's story from the first chapter - heck the first page.

Kane reeling from the recent events that have been occurring to the important people in his life is feeling guilty about such events and his inability to prevent them from happening. He meets Phoebe after she goes running from a bear while hiking with a friend. The pair have an instant relationship that ends shortly after it started. They restarted their relationship after they were attacked and it was unclear who the attack was aimed at.

Phoebe enters her relationship with Kane quickly but struggles with her place in life in regards to her family. She has an over protective group of siblings that treat her like a child while her mother is absentee and her father is too busy working only to find out later that she and her siblings were his secret family. She struggles with drawing the boundaries with her family while having her relationship with Kane.

The pair had chemistry that was off the charts and their story moved along well. I enjoyed the return of characters from the previous books in the series. I enjoyed this book and thought that it was a great addition to the series. I also look forward to what is to come with this series.

“His Second Chance” is an emotional rollercoaster ride from start to finish, it's a second-chance romance that is both suspenseful and thrilling. It's Kane Montgomery-Carr and Phoebe Carr Dixon's story in which Carrie Ann Ryan added even more branches to the Montgomery family tree!

Kane and Phoebe met when she jumped into an unlocked car when she saw a bear while on a hike with Claire, her housemate and best friend. The car was occupied by Kane who was waiting for his cousin Kingston. Kane was stunned when this intriguing stranger jumped into his car but was far from unhappy about it. As they waited for the coast to clear so they could rejoin their companions they chatted and he became intrigued. Later when all four meet up Claire persuades Phoebe to take Kane to dinner to thank him.

Dinner led to a steamy relationship which Kane thought was progressing perfectly but then Phoebe ended it, she felt she needed to break things off but she never gave Kane any explanation and he was left heartbroken.

But when Phoebe is frightened by a stalker it's Kane she turns to, he does own part of a security company after all, but the timing is off and she is there when Kane is shot fortunately it was only a flesh wound! Despite his broken heart and still not knowing why she broke up with him, Kane is determined to protect Phoebe at all costs.

The more time they spend together the more old feelings resurface and Pheobe realises and finally admits that she made a mistake ending their relationship instead of talking to Kane about her worries. But that doesn't mean everything will be easy from now on she has to explain her actions to Kane and there's still a stalker to catch and an old adversary of Kane's to bring to justice.

Phoebe's family is complex and even more complicated than the Carr family and brings a lot of new and interesting characters into the frame.

I don't want to spoil this wonderful story by giving too many spoilers so I'll just say this is one you won't want to miss. The characters are brought to life wonderfully by the excellent narration of Aiden Snow and Isabelle Ruther who were able to make the listener aware of every emotion beautifully.

The story is well-written, fast-paced, intriguing and hot don't miss it!

His Second Chance

This is a sweet and sexy listen. Phoebe is in need of help and it brings her back to Kane but what will happen this time around? Will their hearts survive what happens? It was fun to see how Phoebe and Kane first met. The two are good together and their banter had me laughing. The two go through a lot this time around and they must decide if they can lean on each other. I enjoyed the way their relationship deepened as they reconnected. Narrators Aiden Snow and Isabelle Ruther do a good job of bringing these characters and their emotions to life and I was quickly pulled into the story.

4.5 out of 5 stars!

Holy mega coaster ride! I don't know where to begin. Kane and Phoebe had a short-lived relationship that ended just as it began for reasons unknown. But Kane is the first person Phoebe turns to when she needs help with a stalker. Kane will do just about anything to be in Phoebe's life even if it's merely to serve as her personal bodyguard. There are some explosively shocking moments that are pivotal to the story and to other characters in the Montgomery Legacy Series. Suffice it to say that, just when you have the author figured out she'll throw a double whammy loop with a great big drop from up above that will have your jaw scraping the ground. Yup... I still haven't gotten over it. Add in Isabelle Ruther and Aiden Snow as the narrators. They had me riveted in place as I listened to them weave the author's tale of intrigue and suspense with the HEA at the end.

Great story!

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention the entire time. I loved getting to know Kane and Phoebe and watching them get a second chance. Phoebe and Kane have been broken up for awhile but both still have feelings for the other. Phoebe goes to Kane to ask for help because she has a stalker that has been calling and leaving her notes. The story was well done and I loved watching these two find their way back together and a way to communicate through some of their issues that they were having last time. This story had intrigue as well as they were trying to figure out who was stalking Phoebe as well as the runaway security specialist that tried to kill the team. The twists were great as well and I am excited to see how they play out in the future books. Very excited for the next one and for the Cage brothers spinoff series.
The narrators did a great job with the story and bringing it to life with the characters and everything that was going on. It really added to the story.

Love Kane

I can't stop reading the Montgomery clan books. Keep getting better and the banter is what makes the story for me. This story is about Kane and Phoebe and everything they had to go through. You definitely don't want to miss it.

New Favorite Love Story!

His Second Chance is wonderfully written and performed! It has the BEST cute-meet ever! Kane is the perfect protector for Phoebe, but his love for her shines the brightest. This story is full of surprises, suspense and shock….so hold on for the ride!

The growth through second chances is beautiful

There is something special about second chance romance. The way you get to see how things went wrong and the growth to do things differently and work harder and to feel deeper. I love that this book starts with the unique way Phoebe and Kane met. The twists and turns of them finding their way along with the drama of what life was throwing their way made for an amazing story. Carrie Ann Ryan knows how to evoke emotion through her words and this is a true testament to her abilities.
The narrators, Aiden Snow and Isabelle Ruther brought these characters to life in such a beautiful way. I love getting to really hear to emotions and impacts of the words through audio books.

What. A. Story.

Wow! This book is a doozy! And don’t worry, I won’t tell you why 🙂 Kane and Phoebe are given the chance at a second chance. The love between them had never gone away and when circumstances arise to put them in contact again, time was good for them. I enjoyed Kane and Phoebe getting to know each other again and growing from their past. They both had families surrounding them that wanted the best for each of them. And there was a lot happening in this story! The narrators did a FANTASTIC job of bringing these characters to life and I was here for it! Get ready for a ride with this book! Highly recommend!
