Resumen del Editor

When Lansius awakens in a medieval world as a lowly peasant, his only goal is survival, but he soon finds glory—and love—in this historical portal fantasy.

When MMO gamer Lansius wakes up in a medieval realm, the good people of his village kindly ensure the now-peasant has food to eat and a roof over his head. Furthermore, he is able to escape the farming life and land a job teaching children.

The thousand-year-old Imperium era is drawing to a close, and the threat of war and violence hangs over the land. With no magic or wealth, Lansius has to face this new reality on his own. Well, mostly. The squire Stefi is at his side as he leaves his new home to march with young Lord Arte against the invaders.

When Lansius is separated from Stefi and their liege, he faces his greatest challenge yet: taking command of a ragtag group of misfits as they battle to save their people. And as he reluctantly climbs the ranks of power, others flock to his banner seeking glory or safety.

But will this be the adventure of a lifetime for Lansius . . . or is it a deadly mistake?

The first volume of the hit fantasy-adventure series—with more than two million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Good story

I enjoyed the story as it developed. there was a low point for me where the character seemed to panic real bad, but I don't find that as an issue with the story but is an issue on how it's written. it feels and is portrayed as irrational panic even though the character seems to go through a very logical thought process, so that's it. good story though

Great Story, great narrator

It is a compelling book that while realistic, really cuts to the heart of what it means to be human, especially when transported to a medieval era.

Refreshing take on the military genre!

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this new story while I was browsing through amazon and was happy to see that there was an audible version of it. The story brakes from the usual trope and decisions that the typical OP MC takes. It is very realistic in that a normal human would have reacted the same way when faced with situations of war and violence. The strategies the MC enacts has both balance of great planning and easy to digest combat. Moreover, the narrator performed great with the different voices of both the male/female characters. This new author has become of one of my favorites for 2024. Overall, it was a 5 star story and can't wait for the released of the 2nd book!

love the story but

I love the story. I'm current on royal road, but the narrators pacing is hard to get used to. I mean it's fine and I'll get the next book but I hope it'll be a little smoother it just feels choppy but maybe that's me.

Oh Boy Did I Have Issues With This One.

If you don't mind glaring holes in logic and an MC with little to no ambition then then this Audiobook is for you.

My first major issue with this story was when our MC joins the Lordling's Retinue. Only he doesn't actually follow the Lord anywhere.

Retinue definition= a group of advisers, assistants, or others accompanying an important person.

I can just imagine how useful our MC would be if he was actually being an advisor to his Liege Lord. Only instead of being useful our MC spends all winter marching and hunkering down with the common troops. No reason given.

Then our MC's Squire. Still not sure exactly why he has a Squire, but whatever. His Squire says she doesn't have the money for her own Dowry to get married. CONFUSED?? I certainly am, given that's not how Dowrys actually work. Not to mention the fact that she isn't nobility in the first place so she wouldn't need a Dowry to attract a husband.

Oh, and then there is the Squire's former mistress. A female Knight. I have nothing against a female knight. However in Midieval times being a Knight usually implies that they are a minor Landowner in service to their Lord. I have so many questions in regards to why this city dwelling woman was considered a knight. Not that it gets explained. Because it doesn't.

And then there is the whole war scenario. Major is is retaken from the enemy. Awesome. How? Dunno. MC was stuck in a barn. It feels like we are following a background character. He has no ambition beyond holding down a stable job and moves through the story like he is just along for the ride.

And I won't even ask why he needs to escape his warehouse building by climbing down a mossy rock wall when he could just walk out the front door. The second siege hasn't even started yet. Why would anyone care if he left the building. So stupid.

I couldn't continue after nearly 4 hours of near boredom.

OK not great.

concept it's good, standard isekai with memory loss. the love story is weirdly written, battle scenes are a little long but not bad. the whole book is running from one bad thing to another.
