Interesting but a bit heavy handed

This was a good story with an interesting setting. The writer was ham fisted with the lipstick imagery and character development. The main character seemed to have a lot of time on her hands to involve herself in last minute trips and community affairs for someone who was supposed to be a vital part of the medical team.

Meaningful!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Lipstick in Afghanistan to be better than the print version?

It's the kind of story that works well as an audible book; easy to follow.

What did you like best about this story?

It is based on the author's experiences in a war-torn country, and thus feels gritty and real. The story reveals the SAMENESS of people, especially women, everywhere.

What about Mozhan Marno’s performance did you like?

She was just really good at differentiating between characters and I enjoyed her voice.

Who was the most memorable character of Lipstick in Afghanistan and why?

It's been a couple of months - the Afghan woman who was best friend to the American protagonist was my favorite. Full of fire and determination and love for life, even in circumstances that would emotionally cripple most people.

Phenomenal!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Lipstick in Afghanistan to be better than the print version?

I don't know bc I've not read the print version.

What did you like best about this story?

The continuum of voice/perspective of the main character's "coming of age."

Have you listened to any of Mozhan Marno’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't know whether or not I have.

Who was the most memorable character of Lipstick in Afghanistan and why?

Protagonist bc she experienced change.
