Very funny

I enjoyed the ebook of this, so I was interested in the audiobook. What decided me was that Heather Firth was the female narrator. She does an excellent job with snarky humor, so I knew she would be funny as the character Holly. Alexander Neal is new to me, but I enjoyed his performance as Cole. Both of them did a good job with the side characters, especially Jane (Cole's precocious daughter). And then there is the Thanksgiving scene -- just epic. A fun listen

A swoony enemies to lovers tale

I loved Cole and Holly’s second chance, enemies to lovers, single dad romance. This was a steamy sweet swoony funny heart warming tale about letting go of the past in order to live your best life. Holly is a programmer who is beta testing a dating app in small town Highland Hills. Cole is a single father who owns a brewery. Holly and Cole grew up in Highland Hills but incidents in their past made them enemies despite their intense attraction. They are unaware that they are interacting as beta testers for the app when they start interacting IRL. There are trunks full of baggage to unpack for both Cole and Holly to get to their HEA and it’s a fun and emotional journey for all of us. The book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, sexy scenes, hilarity, painful pasts, messy families, and all the love. Cole and Holly’s love story has all the feels - expect to laugh, grit your teeth, cringe, groan, and of course swoon. The book is well written, with characters with depth who grow and an engaging storyline. I am loving this series and the Mayberry siblings.

Heather Firth and Alexander Neal did a phenomenal job narrating the story and breathing life into the characters and the story with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

Love Cole and Jane!

I've been wanting to get a bit more background on Cole and his daughter Jane. Cole is a single father trying his very best to run a bar and raise his daughter all while trying to retain full custody of her. When suddenly, Holly from his past comes storming into his life and he cannot stop thinking of her. Holly is a smart and savvy woman, who knows what she wants. In order for Cole to be truly happy he has to do some deep soul searching. This book was so good. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook and there were so many laugh out loud moments. The thanksgiving dinner scene was hilarious and the rescue scene was great! It melted my heart!

Cute frenemies-single dad story

A matchmaking beta test that may prove its worth!…Holly is testing her (and her sister’s) app and she’s been matched up with someone who she actually enjoys talking to…not like the hot, but totally aggravating, brewery owner. Circumstances throw them together and they find out that they may like each other after all…except…well you know the drill, one has past issues that impede their happiness. Not to mention the threat to the single dad of losing his daughter in a custody battle with his former in-laws! Cute story with hilarious moments. Loved the narration team!
