The notion of a Crusade, in which large armies assembled from various regions of Europe for the purpose of doing battle with Turkish and Arab Muslims, became so fixed that it was expanded to include Crusades against heretical European Christian sects.

Excellent Overview of the Most Famous Knightly Orders
This is an excellent piece for any interested in the Chivalric Orders of old. I listened to it from start to finish over the course of one shift at work and I can honestly say I will be returning to Captivating History’s works for more in the future.
