Acerca de esta escucha

Brought to life by the miracle of DNA cloning, a 93-foot megalodon shark has escaped captivity. With an insatiable appetite and unmatched aggression, it travels west for the Georgia coast, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. Bullets and harpoons can’t penetrate it, steel nets can’t hold it, and it’s only a matter of time before the whole world finds out about it.

In a race to stop the beast, the organization responsible recruit a marine biologist and a herpetologist to develop a plan to catch it. To do it, they must unleash the company’s other genetically modified experiment - a 150-foot snake, resurrected from the DNA of the mighty Titanoboa.

The pursuit leads to inevitable combat, and the scientists are forced to witness the deadly realities of genetic tampering. As the battle escalates, it is clear nobody is safe...and that nature never intended for these beasts to return. As the destruction mounts and the death toll climbs, the true loser of megalodon vs. colossal snake is humanity.

Megalodon vs Colossal Snake

Being that sharks and snakes are two of my most favorite animals I found a book that had the two competing with each other a rather intriguing concept. I really enjoyed the story, like I do all Michael Cole stories. This was a little different but ever bit as entertaining

Terrible Narration

I loved Michael Cole’s other books, Scar, Thresher, Helicoprion, Megalodon, etc. They all had Cole’s simple storytelling formula narrated by great performers who gave some life/depth to the characters, but not this time. From the onset, the narration was flat out terrible, easily the worst I’ve experienced, and that includes the guy that narrated Greig Beck’s Fathomless who kept mispronouncing “evolution” and “megalodon.” It made it very hard to get into the story. Please stick with narrators that can actually do their jobs.

Good story awful performance!!!!!!

Entertaining story but performance of narrator is beyond awful. I will get more books from Michael Cole, but I will never get another book narrated by Preston Tate Jr.

Monsters fight!

If you enjoy Syfy movies or monster movies, then this is the book for you! This is not great literature, but it is a lot of fun.

Fait Tale

Good story, but performance lacked emotion. If not for poor VA audio would have rated four stars.

Terrible narration

The terrible narration robbed this book of any entertainment value. Would like to listen to this book again but with a different narrator!

Very entertaining!

Eight hours of b-movie creature-feature goodness! Michael Cole doing what he does best, writing stories about scary monsters. I especially love his stories about water monsters, and this one is definitely worth a listen. Someone else complained about the narrator, but I thought he was fine. To me, he sounded like a friend reading me a story. Not everyone has to be RC Bray, Will Patton, or Robin Sachs! He had a pleasant, even tone, which is important. If someone's voice is too shrill, it's really hard to listen to. The voices were different enough that I could tell who they were if it wasn't immediately obvious by other means. His pacing was good too. In any event, I'd definitely listen to this narrator again.

Though the title is silly, the story is lots of fun, and begs for a sequel. There is a surprising amount of heart to the relationship between the herpetologist and the giant snake, and equally surprising, a lot of humor laced throughout the book. Many fun side characters keep the story interesting around the main action. There was one scene where several coast guard sailors were laughing so hard at a what they thought was a prank, I started laughing till I was blue in the face too. The descriptions were hilarious, and consistently colorful.

When the giant creatures finally face off, it's nonstop awesome for the second half of the book. Don't get me wrong, the first half is fun too (also plenty of creature action), but when the giants meet up, you won't want to turn this off. Full disclosure, I could listen to Michael Cole creature features all day and be perfectly happy! Fans of underwater adventures and B monster movies will love this.

Great Clash of the Titans

Megalodon Vs Colossal Snake by Michael Cole is a fun and exciting read/listen. The plot flowed very well from the set up of these two leviathans battle to the battle itself till the exciting and fast paced conclusion. The characters were all very well written. Now for the creatures let’s start with the Megalodon. As always Cole knows how to write the Megalodon to be the perfect killing machine. It was fierce strong and fast. Now for the Colossal Snake I would say it was quite well written and described. I especially loved some of the kills done by the snake. The Narrator Preston Tate Jr. Did a great job at telling this story. All in all I would recommend Megalodon vs Colossal Snake by Michael Cole to anyone who likes a good creature feature.
