Reseñas editoriales

Instead of cautioning against the perils of joblessness, Nicholas Nigro takes a refreshingly unorthodox view of it in his bold and singular work. To him, unemployment is not an excuse to sulk, but an opportunity to become unshackled from nine-to-five corporate drudgery and to celebrate one's independence.

Scott Pollak's upbeat and optimistic tone nicely encapsulates the book's joie de vivre, making it hard to dismiss the motivational and practical advice offered by Nigro. It appeals to both the unemployed and those who may have a job but are interested in fully realizing their fiscal autonomy.

Resumen del Editor

In No Job? No Prob! business writer Nicholas Nigro shows readers how to convert unemployment lemons into refreshing lemonade. Offering advice that is at once motivational ("when unemployment comes calling, start walking and don’t look back"), practical ("20 ways to make yourself leave the house at least once a day"), and fun ("20 things you can do with your retired briefcase"), No Job? No Prob! is the most well-rounded and optimistic unemployment guide available. It also includes useful quizzes that will help you take stock of what you have, decide what you want, and figure out the best way to get there. Learn how to look forward and still live in the moment - after all, as Orson Scott Card says, "unemployment is capitalism’s way of getting you to plant a garden."

Outdated no matter how you separate the wheat from the chaff.

I’m usually very open, but since I’m reading it with a sense of purpose and agile consumption, I admit that I dreaded listening through it, or maybe I have already done a good percentage of what is advised here. Extract 10% this book with the advice that transcends time, update lexicon (get rid of information superhighway) and I’ll listen again. As it is, vocal recording grandfatherly tone and all, it feels like book and narrator are talking to exclusively WASP US-born and raised senior citizens of the 20th century. Times change, hyper diversity arises, tones should change, as well as the advice stuck in a society that has faded. Again, give me 10% of it and edited for 2024 +

Great cover

I couldn’t help but laugh at the cover. The people jumping for joy in the background. The guy looking like he’s being lifted by Jesus. Helped me get out of my rut. Unemployed? Great! Now do something about it. And it’s free!
