Norse mythology

I'm not a mythology expert, but I do know what I like. This audiobook was one of those rare finds that spoiled me for all others. The story itself was fascinating - it was well told, the production quality was top-notch, and I just couldn't stop listening! Great book for anyone who is interested in Norse Paganism, Viking lore, or Norse cosmology.

Well researched

The worlds of Norse mythology can be challenging to get into, at least at first. They're written as sagas and don't always seem to flow together. I was deeply impressed with this audiobook - it's unbelievably well-written. Not only that, but the author has done an excellent job of researching Norse myths and presenting them in a new, readable, and fascinating way. All of this makes for an audiobook you'll be excited to listen to every day!

Inside Norse Paganism

Sometimes known as heathenry, Norse Paganism is based on the old Norse religion that was practiced in Scandinavia before Christianity showed up. Erik Hansen traces its history and describes its deities and rituals. I found the chapter on the Vikings' relationship with death and conception of the afterlife particularly interesting. I now have a clearer view of the subject and have overcome some prejudices. Great audiobook!

Vikings Lore

I liked this book because it gave me a better understanding of the history of Vikings, as well as their ancient religion and modern revival. If you love Norse sagas, but need something to listen to while you're doing your work, this audiobook is for you! It's a great way to learn about the history of the Vikings in an entertaining way.

I'm currently in the process of trying to find a religion that feels right for me, and so far, I have been drawn to Norse Paganism. This audiobook has helped me immensely in my understanding of this religion, as it is full of information about the beliefs of modern heathens, as well as their practices.
