Acerca de esta escucha
"An epic tale with considerable writer’s freedom that makes the book wholly entertaining." (San Francisco Review of Books)
"With one poor poet's scroll, he shook the world!"
Such is the power of this author's voice as a brotherhood of angels prepares for battle, tears are shed in heaven, and fire leaps from the holy altar.
Thus the stage is set, a showdown looming that will decide the course of a man's soul and with it, all of humanity.
This visionary epic poem leaps through time and space and otherworldly encounter, even to the throne of God. Now, be swept up in its enchantments!

Historia
The year is 1327. Franciscans in a wealthy Italian abbey are suspected of heresy, and Brother William of Baskerville arrives to investigate. But his delicate mission is suddenly overshadowed by seven bizarre deaths that take place in seven days and nights of apocalyptic terror. Brother William turns detective, and a uniquely deft one at that. His tools are the logic of Aristotle, the theology of Aquinas, the empirical insights of Roger Bacon-- all sharpened to a glistening edge by his wry humor and ferocious curiosity.

The Third Heaven: The Rise of Fallen Stars is book one of a three part series that tells of the fascinating story of the fall of Lucifer. Lucifer, God's perfect creation and who dwelt in his very presence, walked in the midst of the stones of fire. Yet rose up to betray the Lord and bring Heaven itself to civil war. Many tales have referenced this great angelic war but few have sought to explore the dynamic relationships between God and the angelic hosts. Why did a third of heaven seek to overthrow their creator?

Lazarus occupies a surprising position in the Gospel accounts. Widely known as the man Jesus raised from the dead, his story is actually much broader and richer than that. Living as he did at Bethany, near Jerusalem, Lazarus was uniquely placed to witness the swirl of events around Jesus. When Jesus Wept, the first novel in The Jerusalem Chronicles series by best-selling authors Bodie and Brock Thoene, unfolds the turbulent times in Judea during Jesus' ministry, centering on the friendship between Jesus and Lazarus.

Ancient Constantinople, the glorious capital of the Eastern Roman Empire for over 1,000 years, and the jewel of Christendom, is the setting for this incredible historical novel. No other city in the world could compare with it in grandeur, splendor, and wealth. And when it fell to the Turks in 1453, it must have seemed like the end of the world to Christians. Famed author Mika Waltari takes us into the last months of this dying city as revealed in the diary of John Angelos, a strange man hopelessly in love with the daughter of an eminent Byzantine official.

In a world scarred by an apocalyptic past, evoking a time both 2,000 years past and 2,000 years into the future, untold thousands gather for a crusade. Among them, two men and two women are ensnared by a mysterious traveler, Anasûrimbor Kellhus - part warrior, part philosopher, part sorcerous, charismatic presence - from lands long thought dead. The Darkness That Comes Before is a history of this great holy war, and like all histories, the survivors write its conclusion.

Historia
It's early in the final week. The props and players for Friday's drama are in position. Five-inch spikes are in the bin. A cross-beam leans against a shed wall. The players are nearing the stage - Pilate, Annas and Caiaphas, Judas, the centurions. Players and props. Only this is no play; it's a divine plan. A plan begun before Adam felt heaven's breath, and now all heaven waits and watches. All eyes are on one figure - the Nazarene. Commonly clad. Uncommonly focused. He's on his final journey.

Skillfully interweaving historical fact with psychological insight and vivid imagination, Sharratt's redemptive novel brings to life one of the most extraordinary women of the Middle Ages: Hildegard von Bingen, Benedictine abbess, visionary, and polymath. Offered to the Church at the age of eight, Hildegard was entombed in a small room where she was expected to live out her days in silent submission as the handmaiden of a renowned but disturbed young nun, Jutta von Sponheim.

Azhrarn, Lord of the Demons and the Darkness, was the one who ruled the night, and many mortal lives were changed because of his cruel whimsy. And yet, Azhrarn held inside his demon heart a profound mystery which would change the very fabric of the Flat Earth forever.

History and teachings of the first Christians
Interesting material. This book describes what is considered old doctrine but really it's what was meant to be that has been lost through time. Some of the wording - the thees and thous - could be updated to modern language which would make it easier to take in what it is trying to convey. I am a christian who has somewhat lost my way but if what this book teaches could help many to understand what is meant to be and would encourage those like me that are turned off by the current church hypocrisy. I would recommend this book to those who want to understand the first teachings and learn.

Another grand Epic Poem Narration
Another grand Epic Poem Narration
First, I read the print copy of this book. Many of my sentiments are the same, but there are some dramatic differences when listening to the prolific voice of author Leroy, as he narrated his story. LeRoy has a great talent for writing an epic poem, and his hypnotic voice lends grandly to the narration of the story. The way the words are penned together to come up with a completely grand poem is just pure talent. LeRoy has a unique way of looking at the world, and as I have read his other epic poems, this is not different and definitely not disappointing. He has a remarkable writing style and add to it his reading, no, narrative style, and it brings the reader in, as he paints with words, his voice flowing over gently with the narrative song of his words. "Close by Obama’s ear, there sits the fiend, Whispering foul thoughts of evil influence. 3 To overhear and learn what might be gleaned Of wicked schemes one angel’s preference." I look forward to reading (and listening) more by this poetic author.

Obama's Troubling Dream
Although not exactly my cup of tea, this book was very well-written, and the narrator delivers a highly engaging and entertaining performance of his work (the author and narrator are one in the same).
This is a work of tremendous imagination and creativity, in which the author uses a poem to tell a story in which, in a dream, Satan accuses President Obama of using his position as President to act with harm and in contradiction to the U.S. Constitution. Examples include keeping Guantanamo Bay open after promising to close it, the use of drones to kill U.S. adversaries, jailing Edward Snowden for being a whistleblower, etc.
In the end, God and Satan exchange words, Obama is spared, and, in the end, Satan appeals to God to postpone Satan's terrible fate "until the appointed time". Obama wakes from his dream feeling remorseful and with a change of heart.

Good Poetry
I don't really feel qualified to comment on poetry but this is clearly well done and the narration is really strong. It's an interesting imaginary intervention by angels in recent history. I'd definitely be interested in hearing more from the author (and self-narrator). Note: I received a review copy of this but that did not influence my opinion on the work. It is my own.

Entertaining
I got this book via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. The author told a tale through a poem. The narration was very well done. The story filled with a mix of truth and fantasy. The concept highly imaginative. Overall a good listen as long as you listen with an open mind especially in the climate that we are in right now.
