Acerca de esta escucha
After the brutal murder of her father, Emily Quinn finds herself detained at the San Francisco County Jail, charged with first-degree murder for a crime she cannot remember.
Emily’s mother, a wealthy socialite, quickly distances herself from her troubled daughter. But in an attempt to salvage the family name, she hires world-renowned psychiatrist Daniel Lieberman to assist in Emily’s defense. The famed doctor - an aging, lonely psychiatrist with an addiction to sugar, caffeine, and understanding the human mind - quickly becomes sympathetic to Emily and her tortured childhood.
Together, Lieberman and Emily explore the frightening and twisted world of her damaged psyche, uncovering the complex reasons behind the young woman’s self-hatred and disconnected self-image. They develop an abiding partnership, weaving through unexpected revelations and disturbing secrets. Of particular interest to the doctor is Emily’s strange attachment to the imaginary girls she sketches...and is driven to personify.
The secrets hidden in Emily’s mind could help with her defense or confirm the death penalty case against her. But Lieberman senses other secrets hidden within the patient’s mind, particularly the events surrounding the unexplained death of her twin sister Penelope.
A gripping, twisting tale of psychological intrigue, Pages in the Wind enters the mostly uncharted realm of the human mind, seeking truth buried deep within Emily’s subconscious. Lieberman can help her uncover her past, but Emily is the one who has to face it - or remain damaged forever.

The white-washed Italian villa is perfect. I thought it might feel odd, living in a stranger’s house for the summer, but as my husband and children swim in the infinity pool, I start to relax. And then, in the back of a wardrobe, I find something that shatters everything.... Sparkling green eyes, square jaw, lopsided smile. A young man with his arm around a beautiful woman. The picture is old and faded, but I’d recognize him anywhere. The man is my husband.

Historia
Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

The noises, faint, fleeting, whispered into her consciousness like wraiths passing in the night. Twelve-year-old Erin Willit opened her eyes to darkness lit only by the dim green nightlight near her closet door and the faint glow of a street lamp through her front window. She felt her forehead wrinkle, the fingers of one hand curl as she tried to discern what had awakened her. Something was not right.... Annie Kingston moves to Grove Landing for safety and quiet - and comes face to face with evil.

So Breathtaking
The story is fantastic. Mysterious, unpredictable, thrilling; just paints pictures and images in my head. The author takes you into the world of the characters and you feel like in the midst of the story. Very interesting; I can’t stop listening especially when the narrator is fabulous too.

Wonderful and Powerful
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is well written and the character development is excellent. At times it was hard to listen to, especially if you are a trauma survivor, but understanding the pain this young woman endured is important to the story and only made me feel more empathy for her. The narration is excellent too. Definitely recommend.

Really torn....
First off, if you can’t handle child abuse content pass on this one. I will in the future. With that said, I did get pulled into the sad story. BUT, after all I went through with the main character, the ending was absolutely disappointing and unsatisfying. It felt like someone else came in and wrote the last 35 mins of the book, and it was bizarre and stopped abruptly. Too bad, it had potential, but I would not recommend.

One of the best books I've read in years
With so many books today you can pretty much figure out the ending about halfway through the book. But this kept twisting and turning and hitting on every nerve. I cried and cheered and then just shocked. You won't regret buying this book

Disappointed
The story was kind of juvenile, the narrator sounded like she was reading the book not presenting it. Her enunciation was to distinct it sounded as if she was an english teacher rather than a narrator.
