The book was written 13 years ago. I had the first one in my library.
I disliked that this was promoted as a “new” book by Mary Kubica. Her writing has improved over the years. She is a favorite of mine. This book not included.

I love this author and purchased this book yesterday, but as I'm listening, it sounds familiar. Sure enough when I check my library, I already bought and listened to this book in 2015.

THIS BOOK WAS RELEASED ORIGINALLY IN 2015!!!
As in another review as I was listening to this book it sounded familiar. I went to read about it and seen another review that said this happened to them. I looked in my library and I had already purchased. I was able to return it and get my credit back.

This was just terrible.
I hated every character in this book. The story was painfully slow and boring. I specifically hated Heidi’s character. She’s a terrible mother and I just hated her. What a waste of time and a credit.

Oof. No thank you.
Was 7 hours in when I finally acknowledged that NOTHING HAPPENED IN THIS BOOK. The “twists” are all very predictable and jammed into the last few chapters (which hardly seemed worth finishing after so much blah). Don’t waste your time.
