Great even second listen!

I thought I had listened to this story before but it was a long time ago. The story was enticing this time as well. Character development was excellent and the plot came together and unveiled itself perfectly. Such a great twist at the end!!

Narration was ok sometimes it’s better to not to try to convey a different gender!

the ending

kind of a depressing story. But good character development. Interesting topics about childhood neglect and abuse. How it happened for both Colin and Mia at different socio economic levels. Lots of mental health issues.

Second time reading

I love Mary Kubica's style and decided to re read this drama-suspense story again. Good read, good narrator, great author.

Another good novel by Mary Kubica!

Another interesting storyline with likable characters and lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing right up to the end!

It keeps you wondering

I like the way back and forth the book took us. How the characters are build up and how you just so invested on them by the end.

Kept me guessing

Great book. Narrator less than expected. Had to really keep up with the before and afters.

Wasted credit

I should’ve listened to the reviews. It’s not that this isn’t a great story it really I , it’s just that I’ve read or listened to it before and I don’t believe this is a new story I’m all for recycling but not audiobooks because this one’s definitely not a new story. Audible don’t do this we readers can spot this. Anyway I can’t return or exchange my credit it’s too late.

Didn’t see that coming

I really appreciate an ending that I never anticipated, and that is a rare find for me. Kudos to Mary Kubica for pulling that off so well! Overall, the story was good and I’d recommend it even though I felt it was a bit slow moving at times and I didn’t love the narration.

Boring and predictable

Saw many people talk about what a great book this with with a surprising twist. As I listened I kept waiting for something to happen besides what I could already predict- hoping to be surprised. Alas, no surprise. It was boring and blah.

Too little too late

I thought the characters lacked luster & the twist was too little too late. Frankly, it was boring.
