Gods but not gods and failure to understand them

This story is ok. The last book was way to much of two characters getting physical to really desire to get through it. The first book had a good twist. Sadly the manna node in the second book was confusing because how did X person claim it if the mission would kill you if you claimed it. The ending was semi-satisfying. The author teases that this series is not done when clearly it is done.

Needs to track acquisitions better

I loved the story and most of the character development. The world building was decent and I was involved in the story all the way through.
However, it could have been better.
SPOILER ALERT!!!! Don’t proceed further if you don’t want to read some details about the book.

The MC goes through horrific levels of pain but still has low resistance by the end of the book.
The author’loses’ several magic items the character has collected across the books. Also some skills as well.
And the MC’s prowess does not improve until the last book despite being the first Vassal in the new world?
The author really needs to consult with a pro regarding combat, because, well, just no. Talk to Seth Ring about conducting battles. He’s awesome. Sorry, but this is from a veteran’s perspective.

Despite the inconsistencies, I liked the plot well enough to stick with it to the end.

I enjoyed this series and I was consumed by the writing style and action. So many twists. Very satisfying to read. Highly recommend.

Lazy writing at it's meh'ist

right out of the gate it was obvious the author is a city shutin. they didn't seem to know what coconuts look like when they're on the tree. it only gets worse from there. The dialogue is adolescent at best. The story tries to make the MC out to be a special character, but he is just a moron. he makes stupid mistakes and misses other character cues for him to advance relationships.

Not A Bad Story!

This series was a wonderful enjoyment. At some points it was a long dry time but it was short and far between each book. Did feel that this series should have gotten another book but oh well.

More please.

Good LITRPG book until the very end.

Why?? Why do good books leave you hanging like this???
Everything went as it should in this type of book until the last minute! Then you leave the reader with a massive cliffhanger!! And seeing as the last book released in this series was 4 years ago, I don't think we'll ever get a resolution. It would've been better to leave out that last little bit & everything would've tied up nicely. But NO, tack on a cliffhanger so you can write more only to not write anymore... GRRRRRR

Great listen for car trip

Story is logical with lots of fun surprises even though the love/relationship is a bit cliche. Character progression is easy to understand and stats are rarely recited which in many LitRPG is really annoying. Solid listen enjoy.

Best and worst of possible people & new world

Every performance feels turned up to 11/10. It makes certain characters painful to hear speak, ever. And for some of the books it happens for a long time. Sure, other uploaded people could be a source of tension/drama, but we have mostly sheep and a few heroes or obvious villains. Meaning once they understand how the world works the only real problems come from other humans, which gets tiring to hear about.

Aspects of the world are interesting and I appreciate it being a bit more flexible than many who copy role playing games so closely (one class seemingly forever, and skills only being trainable by other people with a high enough skill, etc). Though the premise makes me question some of the structure and limitations of the world (people made this for other people to supposedly live in indefinitely?).

Very glad I didn't 'buy' this (plus listener trying to make the most of a temporary membership during a deal). Not sure I'll finish all 3 books (started book 3 recently). Probably would enjoy a lot more if I was super drunk or high (dampen my internal emotional responses), but that's not my life anymore. Or maybe if I was in high school, and accustomed to extreme + horrible people as the typical person I'd notice.

slept on this too long

I really enjoyed this one. I kept seeing it. and it was in my wishlist, but I just kept passing it up. finally got it. soooo glad I did. good story telling, good narration. just all around good.
