So NOT What I expected...

But omg what a good book it was. Described ptsd/ angst so vivid I got it. Nico was the perfect guy to be there for her through it all. I really enjoyed this book.
Narration: perfect.

A Romance story on PTSD and Panic Attack

Kathrine has PTSD, agoraphobia, and all sorts of mental health challenges following a collective traumatic event. She meets Nico who helps her deal with the challenges she is facing. At first, he was cynical, suspicious, and reserved.

It's a cute book. It's nice that such a book exists. I probably would have enjoyed it more in my 30s. As someone who is dealing with anxiety, depression, and Panic attacks, I appreciate such a book that highlights some of the struggles we go through. i truly hope it brings comfort to many women who are facing similar issues.
I have to admit that a part of me felt sad. Kathrine was lucky but how many women get that lucky and find that kind of support?

In many other reviews, Nico has gotten a lot of heat for not being supportive enough he is seen as a bully, which is unfair to him because the reality is he doesn't know how to help family members who are suffering from mental health challenges. If he had all the answers and knew exactly what do to or say, it would have been too perfect.

Nico has his share of baggage and I was a bit disappointed that he didn't get some recognition in regards to his emotional struggles. We were told about his life prior in order to understand why he was so harsh with Kathrine at first. His grief and insecurities were handled in a superficial way.

I tend to read dark romance books but I like this one. in a way I felt it was a bit long though and slow (and repetitive) I felt like DNFing several times but i made it through. the book had several laughs and a few eye rolls .( hey am cynical and a bit bitter :p) . For sure i would recommend the book to young women with anxiety who like to read

Narraters: Aletha Gorge was ok. She was great when reading Kathrine's part but I wasn't impressed when she voiced Nico's part or any of the other characters. It doesn't help that she partnered up with Joe Arden. the guy can narrate the dictionary and make it entertaining and hot. he is a five-star narrator.
another "problematic" yet interesting issue with the narration is that each of the narrators gave Nico a different voice so to speak. Nico sounded warm and caring when Joe voiced him. Otherwise, he sounded aloof and disconnected,.
still, listening to the book was fun and recommended.

Enjoyable, but a little over the top.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I don't understand why romance authors think that every male lead has to be Mr. Perfect everything...it is okay to have them more human and vulnerable. I wish the male lead was a little more down to earth.

Have you listened to any of Joe Arden and Aletha George ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

They are always excellent!

Very Interesting Story

Loved this story from start to finish. I loved that two people who were on opposite sides of the spectrum, were able to improve each other's lives so significantly.

What was disappointing was not knowing how things eventually turned out between Jo and David in the end though. if it's not in the other book, then maybe Sidney Halston mayor want to consider doing an abridged story or novella about them just to ease the mind.

But all in all, a very good storyline. Thanks for being different with this story Sidney Halston.

This story is really good! You can relate on so many levels and I really like how Sidney brought in real life events. The narrators did a fantastic job.

I enjoyed Katie and Nico's story. Listening to the devastating experience that Katie went through was heartbreaking. Nico came into her life and helped her deal but couldn't really understand first hand until it all got real at the most unexpected time. The secondary characters were amazingly supportive and great people. This books drew me in from the first moment...a must listen.

Loved this book!

I really loved the way this book came together. The author takes on some really difficult subjects like PTSD and terrorist attacks and handles them with appropriate sensitivity. The way the Hero of the book helps the heroine slowly conquer her fears was heartwarming to watch.

I wasn't prepared for the emotional roller-coaster ride this story took me on. I will never forget where I was or what I was doing that day! This was a beautiful story about the aftermath of a tragedy. Joe Arden and Aletha George did a great job.

To my Surprise, this is an excellent read

This is Book 1 of a 3- part serial about the goings on in a nightclub named Panic. I liked it & I recommend it, because it was believable. There some surprise with twists and turns I enjoyed the entire serial. The author has a way of making each character's personality shine & draws the subordinate characters into the conversation, which allowed the reader to feel welcomed into the story.. This was my 1st time listening to this author’s work. The 2 narrators made a big impression on me, they appear to be in sync with the flow & really bought life to each character.

All the trouble started with Dad, who was the original owner of one of the most popular night clubs in Miami, where all the celebrities gathered. Then late in age, he was found guilty of drug trafficking & sentenced to jail for 20 years. He had destroyed his family life years ago. His ex-wife said it was because of his whoreish lifestyle, she could no longer be married to such a man. She raised the daughter and he raised his twin boys. He sent his twin sons to the best schools where they blossomed to top in theIr class with stellar reputations, unlike that of their Father. From the time their father was arrested, and they were held in custody too, the sons' focus is to turn the nightclub business back to its Top status and clearing away the wreckage which their Dad incurred, but of course their focus is distracted by real life situations.
