Acerca de esta escucha

A New Age conference comes to Estes Park, Colorado, bringing a cacophony of tie-dye, crystals, and murder....

As summer draws to a close, the Spirit, Health, and Heart Conference arrives, just in time for Winifred's sisters to open their store next to the Cozy Corgi Bookshop. To Fred's surprise, chakras turns out to be a beautiful addition to the delightful mountain town. The shop even has a room so pleasing in its crystal tranquility that Fred's corgi, Watson, approves - and hardly anything impresses him.

But not everyone is charmed by the crystals, tarot readings, and messages of personal enlightenment. When a famous spiritualist is found dead, Chakras and the entire town are plunged into a conflict that touches the lives of those closest to Fred.

Although she is hesitant to become involved, it is simply not in the cards for Fred to sit out the investigation. As she and Watson embark on a journey that forces them to take a look into the darker shadows of Estes Park, Fred soon finds herself digging into the secrets of those she loves....

Love it

I just can’t get enough of this series. It’s fun and loving 🥰, even though there is sluthing, death, wrong doings. I every story always ends on a lovely note.

Fun and easy

So much fun with great characters. I find myself listening driving to work and late at night. I want to figure out the murders along with Fred and Watson (who I know has the soul of her father). Thank you

Great Series

I was skeptical based on the cover, I wasn’t sure if it was YA series, it isn’t. It’s a relaxing cozy mystery series with a nice pace. I couldn’t help myself and binged all the books over the course of a week. The simplicity makes for a good escape. The main characters are in their late 30s, mature without being uptight. Fred, our bookstore owner heroine, is an inspiration. I want to curl up with a book in her tiny cabin. The narrator is great.

Mysterious rocks

Fred really does have a knack for finding dead bodies. Estes Park has never seen so much death as since she’s come to town. Under the idyllic and tranquil setting, there are undercurrents, some of which came to the surface in the last book. They’re all but forgotten in this one as Fred embraces the late summer tourist season. She’s settled into her bookstore with her trusty corgi Watson by her side and her best friend Katie upstairs with her bakery. They’ve got the twin teenage boys helping so they’re able to enjoy all Estes Park has to offer. Especially the new-age conference that has come to town.

Fred’s step-sisters Zelda and Verona are actively involved in the conference, especially since it fits beautifully with their new shop. Fred had worried about feeling hemmed in with family owning stores on either side of her, but she’s settled into a comfortable routine and has actually come to enjoy having her sisters and brothers-in-law so close. When a dead body shows up in the women’s shop, it’s Fred to the rescue. She makes her way through a number of suspects before discovering all is not as it seems with her sisters. In fact there are secrets being held close to the vest and it’s up to Fred to discover the truth before an innocent person goes to jail for the murder.

I love these books. There are times when I relate to Fred and this was definitely one of them. “I tend to be fairly black and white in my thinking as far as how the world works. Things can be explained if you dig deep enough. Find the right clues. Unlike most members of my family, I like to think a pretty rock is just a pretty rock. But there are times lately when I’m not so sure.”

I can relate.

On a side note, there were passing references to Native Americans and I would have loved to see that examined more. Perhaps in a future book?

Angie Hickman again helmed the narration for this book and I’m just thrilled. She’s consistent with each character and just the perfect Fred. Another great listen.

Main character-ridiculous storyline

So the first thing is the main character is about as forgiving as they come with a man who genuinely loves her but yet she spouts non-judge mentalism to everyone else.

This is a very liberal slanted book for those of you who would care… Ridiculous storyline that takes place about the secret of one of the twins is absolutely utterly ridiculous and everyone showing around the person who has a secret about! It's a bunch of liberal garbage

A Little Put Off by PC

This was a good listen, but I was saddened by the way that people of faith were portrayed. The story line itself was fun and I like the main character. Good resolution at the end.
