These Space Marine warriors are grey-clad and white-faced, and their eyes are as black as the Outer Dark – the savage Carcharodon Astra. As two packs of ancient, merciless predators stalk the shadows of the prison colony, both seeking a single young inmate with unnatural talents, the corridors run red, and both factions will have to fight tooth and claw to leave Zartak alive.

Very Satisfying

Like Paul Kearney's Umbra Sumus The Dark Hunters this book does a perfect job in fleshing out and giving life to a later founding chapter that has been a fan favorite for awhile and deserved this love.

Just what I was hopeing for

This is definitely what I was hoping for, never thought it'd be coming. The story itself is gripping and good in its own way, but I also don't normally consume alot of Astartes novels. The Narrator was perfect for the tone though and perfectly made me feel the difference between the cold Carcharadons and the twitchy Night Lords.

Hats off to the Space Sharks

Two of my favorite Space Marine Factions facing off! Both sides get a great deal of screen time and get fantastic showings, if you like either of them this is well worth the purchase. Shogo Miyakita does a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he narrates next!

If you like the sharks you'll like this book.

The audio version is worth getting as it helps present the content better than reading alone. The Interigator is the worst part in written form but he is much more bearable in audio format. (I hate reading) I love how distinctive the voices are Bravo to this new VA Black Library choose well. My only nit pick is Te Kahurangi's voice. He's a grand wizard archetype character but he sounds like he's dying the whole book because of how raspy his voice is. If they had inflected slightly more vigor and or fullness into the voice it would have been closer to what I imagined. Elminster from BG3 was kind of what I expected just with less puns and more bluntness but the flavor of the voice was unexpected.I only nit pick this as I have listen several times and the voice can be irksome if unexpected. Especially with how much love the author wrote into Te Kahurangi it's just unsatisfying to hear it this way. Here's hoping outer dark is better in this regard.

Excellent lore building for the Carcharadons

This was a well written solid story. The characters had depth and nuance. This is the second book that I have read that features the pale nomad and I was pleased to see that he remains an engaging character. This book left me wanting to know more of the lore of this chapter, which should always be a goal of a WH40K book. It should always leave you wanting to know more.

This was the first time had heard a performance by this reader and I thought he did an excellent job.

Grimdark and violent. The night lords have finally met their match.

A solid space marine novel, and an extremely violent and gory one at that. The Carcharodons are a very interesting chapter to read about, and this story brings all kinds of entertaining twists and turns. The narrator was great, albeit a little choppy at the beginning, but he finds his stride quick. I chalk it up to editing errors. Overall, great novel and I’m hoping for more of them narrated by Shogo.

my one complaint would be how jarring the changing of character point of view was.

Night Lords vs Carcharodons

This one was a real enjoyable book. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book and hoped so hard for both teams. I mean I will always 100% be a Night Lords fan but the Carcharodons are a great new successor chapter to introduce. 8/10 solidly recommend.

Carcharodons at last!

The Carcharodons novels by Robbie Macniven are some of my favorite 40k books. I'm so glad they've finally begun putting them in audio format! if you want a carnage strewn story of Maori-esque Space Marines fighting against traitors, this is the novel for you!

kinda emotionless narrator..i liked him in scars novels but here not much..left me cold entire time

also the story wasnt gripping me much..feels like author dont like carcharadons much and made them into some weak ass nameless chapter..
