Hated the AI voice

story was very good, but the AI voice was a disappointment. no inflection or feeling

Well, it's a freebie read by an AI.

I guess you get what you pay for. The AI voice is not lilting and does not move into the background like human voices do. A different part of my brain has to interpret it, and it's distracting. I'm not really a fan.

The story was ok, your typical cozy mystery. I like those for easy listening while I work, but the buzzy tone of the robot reader was distracting and kept me from focusing on my work.

Compelling Story

While I loved the story itself the virtual voice fails to invite you into the story and portray the emotions of the characters. The tones and inflections fall flat as if in monotone making listening a bit of a grind.

I dislike the virtual voice very much! There's no inflection and pronunciation of some words was incorrect

Story was interesting. AI didn't go as well.

Overall the book was good enough to have to hear the next part. Wasn't to fond of long pauses at beginning of each chapter. The AI definitely needs a major tune up. Wasn't completely awful, but makes a big difference.

Virtual voice leaves a lot to be desired

Enjoyable story. I struggled with listening to the virtual voice. You can tell it’s not a person. No emotion at all. No difference in the voices. I’m very sad that these books are going to this.

Interesting lead character

Good story by I couldn’t understand why the narrator’s voice was so flat. No life or expression to it. I almost stopped listening but the story was intriguing. At the end, it said it was read by virtual voice.

Story ok… don’t like the AI GENERATED reading!inflection is off in key words and emotion

The story line was fine until the end. At no time in the story did anyone say that the Spanish teacher and the Claira were the same person. Yet at the end, the protagonist claims that they were and that the woman was her mother. It felt like the author didn't really know how to end the book so just wrapped it up as quickly as possible even if it didn't make sense.

The mixed metaphor of a falcon leaping out of the forest was also another big glitch.

The AI voice wasn't too much of a distraction, but Theresa's very little inflection or voice change for character. I would not buy an AI voiced audio book.
