Predictable but entertaining

Quite a cliche story but narration was great and it was still an entertaining read

Twisted

The book kept me on my toes because you had to follow everything to put the pieces together. it was a very good book

Great story! even if you know somebody that has mental illness challenges. beware

took me awhile to get into this story but well written. well executed. good ending

What a twist!

I just decided to read this with literally zero information. I just saw it and said “okay, I’ll give it a listen.” I did NOT regret the decision. The end was a roller coaster that I did not expect to resolve the way it did. Definitely a recommendation.

I liked the non stop drama to the story and overall CREEPINESS. IT WAS SO FAST PACED
Differently was the best story I ever heard.

great story. Women written by a man needs to be stopped. Women don't stand arou d in thin robes soaking wet.

Not as good as The Gift

Once again I am blown away by Herr Fitzek's writing and the incredible translation that seems to catch all the nuance intended in the original story. It's reminiscent of Hitchcock with the unreliable narrator and surreal events.
This one was a bit too "crazy" for me....all of the characters end up being suspects at one time or another.
The story takes place entirely in 4 days - one present day where Emma is talking to her friend / defense attorney in a psychiatric hospital, one specific day when Emma was a child, one day 6 months ago when she claimed to be raped and everyone doubted her story, and (most of the story) on a day 3 weeks ago when a series of unlikely coincidences and bad decisions happen in rapid succession.
I am able to suspend disbelief for love of a good story, but this one had a couple of twists that were just too much, and one very busy, very bad day that was hard to take seriously.
I will try another from this author, because the writing is so good and because The Gift was a solid 5 stars. I guess the next one I try will be the tie-breaker.

Full of twists and turns

Right when I thought I had figured out what was happening everything got flipped over, and then again and again. This is a perfect read for someone who usually can figure a plot out easily just for the fact it kept me on my toes.

Good book just frustrating at some points. a lot that doesn't make sense but over all does

So many twists and turns! Excellent story! I will be reading more from this author!
