A small, struggling pharmaceutical firm is in need of a major new product to survive. Led by a CEO desperate to achieve the fame and fortune he had always expected but had not yet gained, he and his firm are running out of time. On the precipice of bankruptcy, a technological breakthrough is close to fruition. They are in position to finally succeed, if they can only mobilize the resources to conduct a clinical trial that proves the product works. The clinical trial shows their genetically engineered product involving a gene called STK17A works beyond even their wildest imagination.
