A good, clean read!

romance, contemporary, christian-fiction, audiobook

Compelling characters, strong Christian theme, situational and verbal humor, and a really nice read. It is fun and interesting, a nice break from some of my other recent reads.
To be perfectly honest, I picked it up because it was narrated by Valerie Gilbert who can do perky like few others, and that's just what I wanted that day!

Grand Ma takes the Cake

If you could sum up Sticky Notes in three words, what would they be?

Funny and a little judgmental??

Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed the scenes with Grand Ma. She was just so sweet and innocent with a little spunk.

Any additional comments?

Overall I give this story 3.5 to 4 stars. Narrator, Valerie Gilbert seemed to have fun with this narration. I did not like how she said Grand Ma vs granma or gram-ma. The articulation of the 'd' sound made the term of endearment cold.

I have mixed feelings about the story content. Why would a professor invite a graduate student to a social event where her professor would be present? Why would a relationship between them be encouraged? Quinn, Carl, Joe, Katherine all seem to judge others by "their covers". It's odd when Katherine is forced to issue her various apologies in the story. In general, Katherine seems to run hot/cold...so does Quinn. The narrator, kept me listening. I thought Grandma Ethel stole the show and made this story enjoyable.

I received a copy via audiobook boom in exchange for an unbiased review.

Fun, light-hearted, enjoyable

I enjoyed the book very much. It wasn’t deep, but was fun for a light-hearted listen while doing house-work and needing a chuckle.

fun, unique storyline!

Sherri Schoenborn Murray’s Sticky Notes is creative and original. Her characters are real, with quirks that make me smile and little annoying habits that just make it that much easier to forget that they are actually fictitious… and not people I know in real life.

This story centers around the adorable Ethel King, who lives near the university in Idaho where her granddaughter Katherine (who lives with her and is also a star within these pages) is pursuing her master’s degree. It opens with Katherine contesting a grade she received from her handsome, young professor, Quinn Benton. When Ethel finds out about Katherine’s less-than-gracious behavior, Mr Benton becomes the recipient of a surprise visit from Ethel.. and a box of her special cinnamon rolls. Soon an unlikely friendship has sprouted between Ethel and Quinn, much to Katherine’s dismay.

Even though I had suspicions about where the story was going to end up, it kept me surprised and wanting to hear “just one more chapter”. I’m happy with Sticky Notes. Well, except that I wanted more! 🙂

I believe this book takes place in approximately 1999, although it was published in 2014. So take that however you’d like… I wouldn’t classify it as historical fiction, although it’s really not quite modern either. 🙂 It works very well logistically for this story, as there are a lot of communication aspects that would change the story details if it took place at another time — either earlier or later.

Well this book has to be a cinnamon roll. No question. And I think it fits because it’s sweet and has substance.

Fun Romance

A fun book to read and listen to. Catherine is a college student frustrated by a lower grade than she expected. Marching into her handsome professors office with her feelings about the grade is the start of this love / hate(hate isn't really the right word)... relationship. Catherine goes home and tells her grandma (whom she lives with while attending the university). Grandma tells Catherine that if she takes a batch of Sweet Cinnamon rolls, this will fix her grade for sure! Catherine refuses, so grandma goes instead! The professor enjoys the rolls and even goes as to eat them in class, much to Catherine's horror! Ms. Schoenborn did a very good job with her character development. I would recommend this book to all audiences interested in a good clean romance.

Cute and Fun

A great listen. Funny and heartwarming too. Not quite the ending I wanted but I guess that means it kept me on my toes.

Romantic story with accent on Christianity.

A beautiful romantic story. It has some humor and life lessons. Very pleasurable to read/listen. It has a very nice flow to it except the ending, which felt a bit rushed.

The narrator was very good and made following this book very enjoyable.

Silly

This wasn’t the worst, however I’d think it would only appeal to a teen. It should be advertised as a young romance novel. I’d leave off saying it’s humorous as it wasn’t. It was a recommended book based on another selection I’d finished. The other was a humorous book, but had a mystery twist and characters in my age range.
The auditory sounded a bit automated.

Sweet

Received this book for free in order to get an honest review. I enjoyed the clean sweet characters of the book. The characters had depth and where very likeable. The bible references where good as well. No bad language or content in the book at all.
