Such a pleasant surprise

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this book. I’m going through the worst breakup and this storyline put a smile on my face after 3 weeks of sadness. It’s written really well and the audio version rocks. Can’t wait for the next one. X

Better than the last book

I enjoyed this one. These books aren't as racy as some of the other books I have read.

I read Owen's story first before knowing about Cage and he made an impression. I was so happy to hear he had already had his story and what a story. I am so happy to have gotten more of Cage and Lizzie! They were an amazing couple with similar sad pasts that were affecting their present and future. However, they both handled things differently and watching their story delevope and their love grow was incredible. I thought their chemistry came through in Owen's book but getting a front row seat here drove it home. They are both quick witted and sexy about it. Lizzie dished it and good as she took it 😉😉 and silenced Cage many times. Cage...🤤🤤🤤...oh boy was he sexy. He definately knows how to treat a woman, even when he is fighting his feelings. The author does a great job handling some serious issues many people face while bringing the world of first responders to forefront. Lizzie and Cage are from different worlds and the way she blended them together was very realistic and drew me in and had me hooked. Her choice in narrator was great too! She did the characters justice and as well as the side characters 🤣🤣🤣 and you can never go wrong when someone has a dog! I highly recommend this book and this author.

Heartbreaking and perfect!

I love, love, love this series! I've listened to 3 of them this week! This one, however, just might be my favorite. I loved these characters so much. They both have backstories that broke my heart! They love deeply, but at times, it's hard to love freely. I wanted their HEA so much, and it didn't disappoint one bit!

This book really has it all. I laughed, my eyes glistened, and I cheered them on from beginning to end! The narration is really well done. Once I started listening, I didn't want to stop!

Loved Lizzie and Gage.

Lizzie boyfriends dumps her through social media. She is determined to prove once a bad boy always a bad boy. She meets Gage when she goes to get a tattoo and he becomes her project bad boy. These two are different from what they show the outside world and I loved watching them slowly get to know the real person. It was a fun and sexy read/listen and the first book I had read from Maria so I was excited to listen to it. The narrators did a great job. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal couple to give an amazing ending to this series & great setup for the next.

Gage & Lizzie are that couple that are absolutely perfect, but at first glance make you wonder how in the world they got together. How does Lizzie, the YouTube sensation for her videos on makeup, get together with Gage, the semi reclusive, focus on the charity & not me, always putting work first, cop?

Both of them have so much more in common under the surface than even they knew. Similar pasts which have defined both of them…but they were both defined in very different ways. Lizzie grabs life by the reins & wants to make the most out of happiness & love. Gage devotes his life to the job that was his “goal” from childhood (I’m hesitant to say “his dream”). But his professional achievements & life experiences have taught him that not everyone deserves love & some are just destined to be alone…him included.

This story is a beautiful depiction of the fact that everyone handles trials, trauma, & experiences differently. What might me helpful & good for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another. Also, a perfect example of the fact that you never know what someone is going through.

Gage & Lizzie have this level of familiarity in their friendship that just flat out works. Deep down, it’s evident that they were made for each other. Gage needed a little push to be shown that he’s worthy & that Lizzie is the perfect woman to be able to handle the love he needs to be given. The relationships these characters throughout this series have formed are those that form a family you choose and those that last a lifetime.

Another great southern voice read by Jae Delane. I’m sure it’s easy to accomplish when the writing is so great

A little disappointed

You’d think out of a 4-book series set in NOLA, you’d get to hear at least one sexy south LA accent.

Another great story in the series

This series is filled with family, funny moments, steamy moments and hot cops. Lizzie Danvers may finally find the right guy.
