A Hidden Gem!

I am delighted to have found this book. Last year was one of the worst and hardest years of my entire life. We lost more than I can say, including two loved ones, and my family is struggling very hard with it. I am blessed to have found this book that I can share with them. It's not merely a very entertaining escape, but also full of mostly lighthearted ways that help the MC cope with trauma, which is super relatable. However, don't mistake me, aside from that aspect the story is a wonderful journey and a very worthy addition to the genre; the LitRPG game elements alone are solid and very immersive. As someone who always reads along as I listen with Whispersync, I highly recommend the narrator, as well. My absolute favorite part of the book is Mr. Snuggles and Company. I will be immediately moving on to book 2. As always, I add a million stars for having the courage and vocabulary in this genre (or any genre these days, really) to write a fantastic story without so many expletives that I need eye/ear bleach or to ensure my books can never be overheard by my family! That is truly a rockstar move in my opinion.

TL;DR: Nice world building, meaningful trauma facing in lighthearted ways, wholesome story and MC, true system/stat based LitRPG, very good writing, will continue series and author devotedly from here on.

Twice over

Loved this so much I listened to it twice. Weird concept. An alternate reality after death. I hope I can get the rest in the series. I saw two more books are out but not in audible format yet.

Fantastic!

Looking forward to part 2 of the sequel.Intersting fantasy characters and a well written story combined with the excellent performance of the narrator Scott Thomas, the audiobook kept me engaged throughout. Great job by Morris! The production is high quality so it is fun to listen . Hopefully part 2 will be out soon!

An interesting dive into what happens to a person after death

Morris does a good job of telling a story. As a new author I can tell that they have personally explored this from the perspective from those that are still alive and experiencing grief of having lost someone. I appreciate that they spent the time to make it feel like a game to help the self explore and accept their own death. The cliffhanger at the end is a nice way to transition towards book two and I am excited to hear that next recording. My 11 year old kid that is into gaming also enjoyed the book.

Grabs you from the start!!

This was so interesting and kept my attention right from the start! I am excited for the sequels to come so I can hear the rest of the story!

interesting take on the afterlife

I absolutely loved this book. As a person who loves RPGs, I was quickly enthralled in the story. I found myself making game strategies and rolling my eyes at weak moves the character was making! this story got me through my seven mile hike and laundry! can't wait to listen to the next chapter!
