Different story line for me

I decided to try a romance novel on audio and the storyline for this was interesting enough to give it a try. I thought about returning it but as I got to Chapter 3 I was interested in what would happen with the characters. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I would have read it instead of listening. The author did a great job on descriptions as well as the storyline but I think romance novels are just not my thing.

Interesting Plot

The story has a lot going on, which would have been more interesting if the narrator had taken a breath or pause when the scene changed. Everything kind of ran together and it often took me a minute or two to realize we had switched scenes. Overall I think it has a good plot with good characters but in my opinion would be better read in print than listened to.

Wonderful story! Enchanting and sweet! Nice ending as well! Another winner from this well writing author!

My favorite!

Surprises at every corner. There are a few places when the story shifted and I wasn’t sure what was going on but the strong characters of John and Catherine and believable story line had me hooked. I laughed all the way through!!

Relic vs treasure

I had trouble following this as the narration was just not pulling me in. The Relic series was so good i wanted to keep going but it was not the same.

I read this story 15 years ago and I still reread it. It is so nice to listen to it now. I love this trilogy. Good read .

Very enjoyable and not to be missed!

This is Book 1 of the Highland Treasure trilogy and I really enjoyed it very much. I fell in love with the main characters from the beginning and the story kept my interest till the end. It's a well written story with intrigue, adventure, a little humor, passion, and of course love and spicy love scenes, to satisfy any true romance reader's soul. Ruth Urquhart's narration is very good Her ability to give every character their own distinctive voice, brings the story to life. Well, I'm off to listen to books 2 and 3 in this series as they are already waiting for me in my Audible library!

Do not let the 3 stars reviews stop you from listening to this book, I'm glad I never read them until I finished the books, people have different opinions that is not necessarily the same as mine,I did like the narrator and the plot, now time for me to listen the next book.

Lovely story ruined - again - by narrator

I love May McGoldrick stories BUT they have not been well served by the poor narrators. Ms Urquhart is okay albeit in a monotone voice for the women’s parts but is horrible for the men.

Please Audible or Tantor or whatever company produces these books - pick a narrator that won’t ruin or hinder the story and the characters the authors have created
