Resumen del Editor

A sizzling, irresistible, adventure-filled, medieval Scottish romance series from USA Today bestselling author, Eliza Knight. Three Scottish brothers, born minutes apart, must safeguard the lands their father left each of them as their legacy, against their enemies, and the feisty, independent ladies who remind them what it is to be human and loved.

Lady Douglass de Clifford is reticent about marrying an English soldier who holds a Scottish castle for their king. After all, she doesn’t really believe the English should be battling the Scots for their own land. When she arrives in Dumfries, their party is unexpectedly ambushed. Besieged by rebel Scots, she is tossed from her horse, only to be saved by a Highland warrior who promises safety even as he absconds with her. She vows to run away, until his tender kiss makes her doubt everything she has ever known.

Laird Noah Sinclair had not expected to find an English bride in the center of his battle, and now he is determined to take from his enemy what he prizes most—his lady. As the eldest of his brothers and laird of his clan, he has a responsibility to those who look to him for leadership. But when Lady Douglass threatens to run away and is nearly accosted by an outlaw, he is determined to prove to everyone that she is his and his alone. While at first his decision to steal the prize seemed like a punishment, her kiss proves to be rewarding all on its own.

But a love between them seems impossible. Despite the passion igniting between Noah and Douglass, they only wed for her protection and for his revenge. Tucked away from battle at Castle Buanaiche in the northern most part of the Highlands, Noah fears misfortune may befall his clan for stealing another man’s bride—and it seems like danger is a little closer at hand than they both expected.

If only the narrator was different

Dear Antony Ferguson,
Please change the way you narrate the female voices, they are ladies not kids.

Dear Antony Ferguson,

Please change your way of narrating the intimate times dialog, since people tend to speak softer & with passion during such times. Instead of your excited, naive, child-like ways. 😕

Thank you.

Meh. Cookie Cutter

This is a good story to fall asleep to but not very entertaining overall. It was fairly formulaic. The main characters were very much like many others. Douglas is a terrible name for a heroine, too, and I found it distracting as I was listening. It’s not worth your time.

Douglass

Loved everything but her name. I kept expecting at any moment Noah would ask her about her name or another one she was given… I hated her name being Douglass.

I really enjoyed this book it is very sweet with some nice spice. Maybe a little copycat of her other books but if it’s not broke 🤷🏻‍♀️ it was a nice listen while I work book.

Good story

I love Eliza Knight. I've read several of her books. This was a very nice story. I feel like something was missing or the story was too short. it is possible that what I think is missing will be in the other book. I will be reading the second book. I love the characters I think the relationship between the siblings was great. the description of the Highlands and the clans were great. Loved the sweet steamy love scenes. If you're looking for a short sweet story to listen to I highly recommend it. if you want a much more detailed 12-hour listening story then skip this one for another day.

Did not like this, would return if I could

I have listened to other books narrated by Anthony Ferguson and perhaps it was the story. All the ladies sounded like nitwits. All the men sounded like Neanderthals. And while I know “ Ye” may had been a work of that time, it was like nails to a chalkboard and completely overused.

A great Scotland tale

Great story and the narrator had wonderful accents. The fact that love won out always is how I want things to end.

An unexpectd romance

The story tells about two people who looked at their lives as being decided one way. A rash decision changes everything and the two learn to appreciate each other and fall in love.

Eliza Knight fan

While both the story and the narration were, as usual, compelling I was VERY put off by the female protagonist being named a male name, Douglas! It truly interfered with the story for me.

Anthony Ferguson is one of my favorite narrators. Just a thought though, women above the age of 18ish should not have the same tone of voice as a 10 year old. It is annoying for “her” response to their love making with the childish voice.
