Acerca de esta escucha
The next in the #1 Sunday Times bestselling series, New York Times bestseller Kate Mosse returns with The Ghost Ship, a sweeping historical epic about love in a time of war.
The Ghost Ship floats silently on the water, all guns silenced, all voices quiet. In the hold, the bodies of men who are dead or dying, those who hid. The waters off the Barbary Coast are home to more privateers than any other, and now, this ship’s hull is splintered, the sails tattered and, burnt, its gold coins and bullion seized as the spoils of war. On board is the Huguenot leader of the Siege of St Rochelle, forced to flee the city in 1628, and the legendary and feared commander of the ship, kidnapped as a child from the island of Tenerife. Both know their fate. If they are arrested, they will be tried, condemned and hung for their crimes.
But things are not what they seem. For the bravest of those on board are, in fact, women living in disguise: Louise Joubert, to escape a family feud several generations old; and Anna Van Raay, fleeing a miscarriage of justice that would see her taken to the gallows. Both women know that, whatever happens, they cannot allow their identities to be discovered.
The Ghost Ship—the third in The Burning Chambers series—continues the story of the Joubert family and their descendants. A thrilling adventure story of piracy and revenge, lost treasure and family secrets, it ranges from France and Amsterdam to the Canary Islands, and across the high seas.

Historia
In a remote village near the English coast, residents gather in a misty churchyard. More than a decade into the 20th century, superstition still holds sway: It is St. Mark's Eve, the night when the shimmering ghosts of those fated to die in the coming year are said to materialize and amble through the church doors. Alone in the crowd is Constantia Gifford, the taxidermist's daughter. Twenty-two and unmarried, she lives with her father on the fringes of town, in a decaying mansion.

The Earl of Wrexford possesses a brilliant scientific mind, but boredom and pride lead him to reckless behavior. He does not suffer fools gladly. So when pompous, pious Reverend Josiah Holworthy publicly condemns him for debauchery, Wrexford unsheathes his rapier-sharp wit and strikes back. Historia
It is a tale of ghosts, of madness, of revenge - of old alliances giving way to new intrigues. Denmark is changing, shaking off its medieval past. War with Norway is on the horizon. And Hamlet - son of the old king, nephew of the new - becomes increasingly entangled in a web of deception - and murder. Beautifully performed by actor Richard Armitage ("Thorin Oakenshield" in the Hobbit films), Hamlet, Prince of Denmark takes Shakespeare’s original into unexpected realms, reinventing a story we thought we knew.

From Italy in 1733 to Edinburgh in 1831 to a series of chilling murders in London in 1870 and a lethal game of revenge decades later, a watch touches lives with misfortune - until it comes into the hands of one young woman who might be able to stop it for good. This outstanding collaboration between four outstanding novelists follows characters who are irrevocably linked by fate, each one playing a key role in breaking the curse once and for all.

Historia
This, the first in the splendid series of Jack Aubrey novels, establishes the friendship between Captain Aubrey, Royal Navy, and Stephen Maturin, ship's surgeon and intelligence agent, against the thrilling backdrop of the Napoleonic wars. Details of life aboard a man-of-war in Nelson's navy are faultlessly rendered: the conversational idiom of the officers in the ward room and the men on the lower deck, the food, the floggings, the mysteries of the wind and the rigging, and the road of broadsides as the great ships close in battle.

Smart men never dabble with demons. I never claimed to be smart, but at least, I’m powerful enough to control them. When I bound Havoc to me nearly 300 years ago, I never realized how difficult he’d make my life, although “accidentally” lighting him on fire every now and then does bring a smile to my face. What A Disappointment
I love Kate Mosse. And I have thoroughly enjoyed the previous books in this trilogy. I couldn't wait to listen/read this third and final chapter in the saga. Other than referencing previous characters this book really had nothing to do with the previous books and had little of the magic of the previous titles. I was intrigued by the premise of women pirates But, I found the whole story kind of silly. It had the feeling of the Perils of Pauline and after the third or fourth miraculous turn of events (my English teacher used to call this technique "deus machina") I knew there was no issue. The love story between Lousie and Giles was never fully realized and did not feel real. This story stretched the limits of reality in my view. And the ending. Well, I think another reviewer noted the ending was more than disappointing. The writing, the research, and the attention to detail are always first-class with Kate Mosse. The story however not so much.

Not very good
I really enjoyed the first 2 books in this series and was very excited to purchase this title. It started out good but as it went on the story dragged and became very slow. I understand this is fiction however many of the twists and turns are much like a Hallmark movie channel program- That is to say you will need to put aside all sense of logic and reason to connect the dots. Very disappointed would not recommend
