So awesome!
Talk about a fantasy that's easy to get swept up in! The world building was very well done! I almost didn't even realize it was happening cause it flowed so well with the plot! The characters are introduced so well and are easy to love! Blue might be my favorite, though 😉 I thought for sure this was going to be a standalone right up until those last few sentences. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Great voice actress and amazing world building!
I really fell in love with this book. It had everything. A strong female character, love, magic, great world building. I wasn't in love with the male main character at first, but he was perfect in the end. I have dreams about this world. Beautifully written 👏! The voice actress was so good and perfectly fit the story.

kept me guessing
I enjoyed the narrator! She did an excellent job. The story was interesting and kept me guessing throughout. The romance was a bit too insta love for my taste. overall enjoyable, would recommend.

Good Book
The Half King was an easy read, seemed like it should have been longer, but I enjoyed it and will read the second one if and when it comes out :)

Compelling Premise & A Fun Read
Loved the unique lore of the Allied Realm. The premise really caught my attention. A girl who’s tasked with the mission to save the king and break the curses of each noble family. It had a great discourse on religion and how it can impact oneself in different ways. It did somewhat lack in world building as there were some plot holes and it was a little slow at times but there was just enough fantastical elements and romance to leave you satisfied.

book of the year????
I don’t even know where to start. I got this book on a whim from Libby and a few chapters in decided to return it for the next reader and immediately bought it here. The characters, world building, lore, and plot are all outstanding. The premise is captivating and the last two hours had me crying at my desk at work. The epilogue TOOK ME OUT. I can’t recommend this book enough and I can’t wait for Book 2!!! Landers, 10/10.
