This one wasn't for me.

I found the FMC vapid and annoying. I did not buy the love or perceived "tension" between the fmc and mmc. The "plot" is riddled with holes and the mmc gave me the ick.

A mostly fun tale of toxic love

This one won’t be for everyone. After all, the MC’s do poison each other as teens. Also Tamlin hops universes to star as the rival fairy king, once again proving nice doesn’t equal good.
The author must be acutely aware of how obtuse a love triangle sounds, and rightly so, as this one quickly does a 180.
Overall this was a fun, spicy listen. Slightly derivative, but done well.

Stars to the author fantastic story

The story was beautiful and transported me to there time. Some beautiful love scenes that did not become too raunchy or vulgar, I felt I was the female being swooned by the prince

A twisty time!

I loved this book! It was a great way to close out the year. Mildred is a FMC that has some sass. The plot had me questioning every single thing. I didnt know what the heck was going on until the end. The romance was executed so well. I was absolutely here violent cat and mouse. This was a perfect standalone. It had the perfect balance and felt complete. The epilogue was beautiful and was a perfect ending.

I am not really a fan that thinks one way or another about book covers, but for whatever reason, after reading this book, I truly feel like this cover does not do this book justice.

This was one of those books that was a recommendation to me and I went into it fairly blind. I added it to my TBR list and then when Audible had a sale, I bought the audio version. The funny thing is that I actually pushed play by mistake (because I didn't remember why I bought it, and it didn't look that interesting) and I meant to hit the book right underneath. Imagine my surprise when not only was I interested almost immediately, but the book also just continued to get better and better as it went on.

What I didn't know when I started was that this was an enemies to lovers romance, set in the world of the fae - a world with a human realm, and an Unseelie and Seelie realm as well. The FMC is a halfling - she is half human and half fae (Seelie) and she is bethrothed to the Seelie Prince when they are both children. The bethrothal occurs to secure an alliance because the factions are all at war.

The Seelie Prince - Atakan - is the star of this book for me. He is known as being heartless and he is - kind of. He is one of those morally gray characters that you somehow find yourself liking.

Then, there is the FMC Mildred (was a bit curious about that name though tbh). Anyway, she isn't a wilting flower and even though she is half human, she does her best to prepare for what her life is going to be like once she is given to their kingdom. She is fun to follow along as she embarks on this journey.

Then, of course, there are things that were NOT told to our Princess and she has to discover on her own - things that change the game completely.

This is a stand alone and honestly, I enjoyed every moment of it.

Author has some potential in the future books

The book is not bad, but it’s far from being good. The narration is great, and some parts are well-written, but the story is weak, with many gaps and unanswered questions. The main female character’s actions are so strange that it can hardly be called a love triangle or a mate story. It feels more like, “I’ll sleep with whoever they tell me to.” DNF last 3hr

I really, really love this book! I am definitely a romance girly and this is the perfect amount of fantasy and romance! definitely worth it!!

Literally could of been a good story if it wasn’t so bipolar and toxic at the same time.
