Resumen del Editor
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles? Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever. The KonMari Method, with its revolutionary category-by-category system, leads to lasting results. In fact, none of Kondo's clients have lapsed (and she still has a three-month waiting list). With detailed guidance for determining which items in your house "spark joy" (and which don't), this international bestseller featuring Tokyo's newest lifestyle phenomenon will help you clear your clutter and enjoy the unique magic of a tidy home-and the calm, motivated mindset it can inspire.

The workplace is a magnet for clutter and mess. Who hasn't felt drained by wasteful meetings, disorganized papers, endless emails, and unnecessary tasks? These are the modern-day hazards of working, and they can slowly drain the joy from work, limit our chances of career progress, and undermine our well-being. There is another way. In Joy at Work, best-selling author and Netflix star Marie Kondo and Rice University business professor Scott Sonenshein offer stories, studies, and strategies to help you eliminate clutter and make space for work that really matters.

If you’re struggling to stay on top of your to-do list, you probably have a good reason: anxiety, fatigue, depression, ADHD, or lack of support. For therapist KC Davis, the birth of her second child triggered a stress-mess cycle. The more behind she felt, the less motivated she was to start. She didn’t fold a single piece of laundry for seven months. One life-changing realization restored her sanity—and the functionality of her home: You don’t work for your home; your home works for you.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

This surprising and invigorating process of clearing out unnecessary belongings can be undertaken at any age or life stage but should be done sooner rather than later, before others have to do it for you. In The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning, artist Margareta Magnusson, with Scandinavian humor and wisdom, instructs listeners to embrace minimalism.

Why are Danes the happiest people in the world? The answer, says Meik Wiking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen, is hygge. Loosely translated, hygge - pronounced hoo-ga - is a sense of comfort, togetherness, and well-being. "Hygge is about an atmosphere and an experience," Wiking explains. "It is about being with the people we love. A feeling of home. A feeling that we are safe."

Most of us know we own too much stuff. We feel the weight and burden of our clutter, and we tire of cleaning and managing and organizing. While excess consumption leads to bigger houses, faster cars, fancier technology, and cluttered homes, it never brings happiness. Rather, it results in a desire for more. It redirects our greatest passions to things that can never fulfill, and it distracts us from the very lives we wish we were living. But it doesn't have to be this way.

4 bags and counting...
There were quite a few useful ideas and I agreed with the main concept. Some of it was ridiculous and impractical like emptying your handbag every night and talking to your possessions, but I do agree that letting go of the clutter from the past and only keeping the things that spark joy is completely freeing. I got rid of 4 bags of clothes last night.

Complements other books on decluttering
If, like me, you've read other, more practical books on decluttering and organizing, you may find this book a nice change of pace. Marie Kondo offers a uniquely Japanese perspective on the objects that we hold sacred and how we should take care of them. She delves into the emotional side of clutter. And while some of her ideas could seem a little "New Agey" to Western ears, the basic essence of her technique transcends culture. I found it inspiring, and plan to put it to use. The narrator is exceptional—very emotive and easy to listen to.

Simple and inspiring
Such an easy read. Started on clothes before I even finished the book and so pleased with the result. If you need some inspiration and would love to declutter feeling nothing but gratitude and relief rather than dread or anxiety- read this book!!

Must read for anyone attached to STUFF!
I love that Marie shares all her experience and knowledge and although I don't agree 100% with some of the items she prefers to go without , I love her brilliant ideas and I have already started applying them!

Amazing!
I love the spirituality of this book ties into the art of tidying. It is explained as a lifestyle rather than just a chore or obligation.

Life Changing
Good storyline and an entertaining read, as well as a practical book. I was worried about other reviews saying the author likes to talk to her things and although that sounds weird, i bought in anyway. I feel those reviews exaggerated it when it shouldn't have been taken out of context. If one considers the background of the author and the stories she shares, they all makes sense. The only reason it is 4 stars for performance is because it's hard to visualize the folding method and it will be nice if the author have more details on how to fold and store each category. Will definitely gift this to friends and family!!

Eastern Household Philosophy
Putting aside initial reactions to certain ideas presented are mandatory as some things may seem counter-intuitive or outright bonkers. But given some thought, there are plenty of ideas worthy of consideration.
