another beautifully written tale, where you can taste the opulence, smell the lush, and feel the chill of the air

WOW!!

This is an amazing adventure the author takes you on with the beautiful innocent Celie! I wish there was another book, because all the characters are amazing and you just want be there with Celie!!!

We love a sheltered woman coming into her own!!

I don't get why people are hating on this story or Celie to be more specific. I loved every bit of this book and what was done for her character development! The blending of characters from the previous series with new characters was done beautifully. I am so happy that she's kind of found her own place and people outside of what had been decided for her her entire life. If you read the last series, then you were able to see her kind of start to come out of her shell, but she still was following someone else's path and not being true to herself. I feel that as women, we tend to let others make us feel as if we always need to prove ourselves or let them define who we should be for us and to see her break out of that place and come into her own was absolutely beautiful. For the trilogy I waited till all three were out before I started reading and right now I'm really wishing I had done the same for this duo series! That cliffhanger/epilogue has me so anxious for the next part!

Holy smokes! Amazing!

This book is deliciously dark and I could not put out down! Hopefully the next comes out soon!
I love the world in serpent and dove and this book just made it even better. Love love love!

Fun and exciting

Not having read Serpent and Dove first, I still truly enjoyed the book. It’s a great adventure with such compelling characters and I look forward to reading more of the series.

Loved the Characters and the Storyline 🥰

My sister bought me this book for Christmas. I haven't had time to sit and read, so I used one of credits. I listened to it while I worked and anytime I was in the car. I am so glad I did, because I loved everything about this book! I can't wait for the next one! In the meantime, I am going to read the 1st set of books to this magical world 🤗

Great Book

I loved Celine’s character development in this story. Cant wait for the next book to find out what happens next!

An entertaining reading

I’ve enjoyed this story even if I couldn’t totally feel connected to the main character and the pace was bit slow at times. However I’m certainly going to read the sequel.

Haunting and Inspiring

This book is another example of how amazing Shelby Mahurin’s writing is. The world building, the magic system, the characters. I was fully immersed in this book and after an ending that ripped my heart out, I can’t wait for the next one

I wanted to love it

I wanted to love this book. The story line was great, performance was great, the main female character was supremely juvenile and never grew from her experiences. She literally gave me anxiety.
