Wow and wow!

I am sad this book ended and that I have to wait for many months for the next one

It started out fair and for several chapters I was annoyed at the long dialogues between Sera and Nyktos. Reminded me of phone dates with boyfriends when I was in high school (no you hang up, no you hang up…for hours). I could have did without most of the first half of the book, but hold on, it kicks in gear and things get really good after that and made it worth the time I spent speeding up the narration.

Honestly, I just want to peek inside Jennifer’s head to see what her brain looks like. She has created this fascinating and some times confusing(requires several rewinds) world. I am sure I will have to revisit it again because there is a lot to digest. This is so much more than Nyktos and Sera’s story.

When I first got the book, I wasn’t exactly sure if it was going to be too good. I expected it to be okay at least.
Boy was I sure wrong! This storyline is well thought out, and was quite excellent. Another reviewer mentioned the was a teen book but it’s not. It’s an excellent read for adults. It does have very few sexual graphic scenes, but nothing short of romantic.
I enjoyed it so much, that I didn’t want it to end. I sure hope there are more sequels as I can’t wait to see what happens next with the main characters, the different Kingdoms, and the great ancient Prime-evil.
This author sure know how to create an excellent storyline because she’s as good as Terry Brooks, JRR Tolkien, etc. If you like great adventure with some romance, this is worth reading.

Couldn’t stop listening

I’m obsessed with the Blood and Ash series and been patiently waiting for book 4 to come out so I’m crazy happy this book came out to hold me over!

Hurry up and write the next book!

I’ve listened to this book twice and loved every second. I’m in withdrawal. Now I’m on the edge of my seat for two storylines in this universe. I love the grandmother as much as the granddaughter!! This is torture! Please! For my sanity, please do nothing else but finish the next book!!!!

OMG! 😍😍😍😍😍

I can't even begin to say how much I loved this book! I listened to it while I followed along in the book and it was the best experience I've ever had with a book. I loved to spicy and the story. I'm excited for the next book and I've already pre-ordered A war of two queens in her Blood to Ash series. I love Jennifer's books. My only issue was that I wish they had a guy narrator for Ash/Nyktos.

Love all the books in this series!

The author and narrator are sublime! I’ve never enjoyed books more! I literally run hours at a time while just listening. The writing and narration take me out of my own thoughts and I’m immersed in the world of the story! It’s wonderful! I’ve got my mom and grandmother reading them too!

Amazing as expected!

First in a spin-off series (From Blood and Ash). However, I think you could start with this first too since it’s a prequel series. Your call. JLA makes such a great, complex universe and now tons of questions and theories (originating from first series) are starting to be answered. Suggest you join the Facebook spoiler group. :D

If you’re a Blood and Ash fan

This will help you while waiting for the next Blood and Ash book. If you’re loving that series then you’ll love this as well. Narrator is Fantastic. Banter is just as amazing and once again there are so many questions! And there are toddler dragons which are too precious for words.

a great prequel

I very much enjoyed this book spicey and witty. a lot of questions are answered. I do wish junnifer didn't leave us hanging with Cliff hangers the ways she does!!!!!
