Resumen del Editor

In April 2009 a modest, middle-aged woman from a village in Scotland was catapulted to global fame when the YouTube video of her audition for Britain’s Got Talent touched the hearts of millions all over the world. From singing karaoke in local pubs to a live performance with an 80-piece orchestra in Japan’s legendary Budokan Arena, and a record-breaking debut album, Susan Boyle has become an international superstar.

This astonishing transformation has not always been easy for her as she is faced with all the trappings of celebrity, but in the whirlwind of attention and expectation, she has always found calm and clarity in music. Susan was born to sing. Now, for the first time, she tells the story of her life and the challenges she has struggled to overcome with faith, fortitude, and an unfailing sense of humor.

Inspirational!

Susan Boyle has a beautiful voice but more importantly she has a beautiful soul. She has reminded me that faith is so important and all of us are special with gifts and talents to share. I highly recommend this book especially if one has struggled with disabilities.

Good story

Would you consider the audio edition of The Woman I Was Born to Be to be better than the print version?

No

What didn’t you like about Elaine C. Smith’s performance?

Story would have just been better had the author did the narration herself. I was expecting to hear Susan Boyle, not someone I had never heard of.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

The uplifting story of Susan's Journey

An honest and detailed story of Susan's journey to fulfill her dream. She brings you into her highs and lows, feelings of not being able to do it, and how she overcame the fears and nerves to get to the microphone. As she began to sing calmness and joy came. The journey includes the fans who made it possible, and her thankfulness to them.

Absolutely Beautiful!

I have been a fan of Susan Boyle from the first time I heard her sing. Hearing about her family and her life has made me love her even more. Susan is inspiring, gracious, and so kind. Every song she sings gets better! She is an inspiration to me! Thank you Susan Boyle for being you!

AS ONLY SUSAN COULD TELL IT!

Susan Boyle has once again produced a wonderful, insightful story of her point of view as to her success. This book as all the emotions that only Susan could relate; humor, sensitivity, sadness and uplifting. She is a natural entertainer weather she is singing or writing her memoirs.

Really Inspirational

Love the story, love the narrator's thick Scottish accent. I didn't like the parts where the narrator sung. They should've just used Boyle's real voice for that part. I also wish the book had gone into detail about why Boyle never married, but I guess that'll come in a later book.
