Everyone has a tiger inside them. . .
It's the part of you that only comes out when you're about to be pushed off a cliff, poisoned in your family’s kitchen, framed for a crime, and anything else that awaits artist Cate Finley upon her homecoming.
Back in the summer of 2000, having suffered enough under the iron fist of her older sister, Margaret, sixteen-year-old Cate raids the safe at her family's rural Arizona ranch and hops a bus for New York City, hoping to pursue an art career. Instead, she meets the kind of man her parents would have warned her about, had they survived their plane crash the year before.
Fast forward to the summer of 2019 and Cate, older and wiser, parks her camper nightly on the streets of Los Angeles. By day, she hangs off skyscrapers to paint her colorful murals, all while avoiding men in suits bearing non-disclosure agreements from her politically ambitious ex.
When mysterious texts suddenly appear on her phone--her sister Margaret has gone missing and someone is trying to steal the family ranch--Cate wonders, "Who is trying to lure me back home…and why?" There is only one sure way to find out.
B.E. Jackson grew up among storytellers—actors, writers, and musicians. An award-winning short story writer and magazine editor, she lives with her husband in a verdant part of rural Arizona, where she derives her inspiration from the animals she cares for and the natural terrain. She is currently working on two more Tiger Cate novels.
