Please Note: This content is not for kids. This audio comedy features adult language (hurled especially at one malicious, phony Kelly Smith). Discretion is advised.

In this dramatic comedy, Parks and Recreation and Good Girls star Retta brings humor and strength to her role as the unforgettable Tinaca Jones.

What’s in a name? A lot. The name Tinaca, for example, has been passed down in the Jones family for generations of women. In fact, the Joneses name a Tinaca every other generation, to let the name breathe a little. To let each Tinaca shine. And shine is exactly what Tinaca Jones intends to do.

A grocery cashier by day and household name in the making by night, Tinaca Jones pays her dues, saves her coins, and takes business and marketing classes. She spends every second readying to launch her lifestyle brand for anyone who wants to live like her - that is, intentionally and fabulously. But when a basic blonde with an even more basic name, Kelly Smith, approaches her register and peeps her nametag, Tinaca’s plans come crashing down all around her.

The next thing Tinaca knows, Kelly Smith has launched herself into overnight fame with a pathetic, old-as-time, red-carpet stunt, using the stage name "Tinaca Jones". But Kelly Smith messed with the wrong woman. What follows is Tinaca Jones’s wild and triumphant account of the battle to reclaim her name, told over the course of an epic and hilarious deposition.

After graduating from UPenn, Stephanie Lemelin handed her ivy-league degree to her parents and took off for Hollywood to pursue a career in acting... just like they'd always feared. Truth be told, she had been warning them ever since she learned to speak! Since then, Stephanie's worked steadily both in front of the camera and behind the mic. In 2019 alone, Stephanie has appeared on Nickelodeon's Cousins for Life playing mom Charlotte, as well as guest-starring roles on hit shows such as 9-1-1, Code Black, iZombie, and more. One could say Stephanie certainly stays busy, not to mention she's a mom of 3! Forever grateful to work in an industry that still makes her inner child jump for joy, Stephanie's adult self is equally grateful to qualify for SAG-AFTRA insurance each year—after all, those afore-mentioned kids have sweet-tooth's like their mama and need to go to the dentist regularly. Retta is awesome! Very talented and so funny.

I didn’t know what to expect with this funny cover, but it peeked my interested but didn’t have high hopes because it was a free listening book. But I’m very happy I gave it a chance, it is extremely well written and Retta is a brilliant actor. She helped make Tinaca Jones an unforgettable character. If you get offended by bad language, don’t bother listening, but you are really short changing yourself because the writing is well done, and honest! Those familiar with Hollywood knows this s@*$ is real, and Matt Boren knows how to tell a story. Cheers to brilliant comedy, and I hope to hear more about Tinaca Jones!!!

Couldn't stop listening!

This was such a well performed story! I love (the real!) Tinaca Jones. Hilarious, and very witty, this book went by all too quickly, I'd love a part 2! The interview format was also interesting and was a perfect way to tell this tale.

Too much profanity

Although I love Retta, this was an over exaggerated storyline with profanity on steroids. Although she does warn you about the profanity in the beginning, every couple of words were curse words. It took away from the story. I’m so glad that this was a free book.

Short Story Fun!

I just generally enjoyed the story and the tie backs to the little details. Hilarious characters!! Acting could be a little better, but not enough to detract from the story.

Fun and Engaging

Well-written story with superb acting. It’s light, but very engaging and I loved the endless pop culture references and plays on words.

Listen to this!

This was a really fun and clever story, made even better by Retta’s one of a kind voice and sprinkled with a ton of sass. I’m happy I got to hear this one.
