"Trouble in Tampa" takes readers on a thrilling journey to the Wild South of Florida in 1885, where wild pigs and even wilder people roam. The novel follows the story of Oliver Redcastle, an ex-Pinkerton investigator and sharpshooter who takes on what should have been an easy assignment for a wealthy Baltimore art collector. However, when the man Oliver is hired to find goes missing, he finds himself embroiled in a swamp of trouble.
Betrayed by an old acquaintance and caught between two passionate women, Oliver is railroaded into one of old Florida's infamous turpentine camps. With his sharpshooting skills, he must fight to escape certain death and trek through miles of dangerous animals, dangerous people, and shocking intrigues. Along the way, he meets Hannah Kinchman, a female Pinkerton operative he initially blames for getting him into trouble in Tampa. However, as they fight their way through kidnapping, treasure hunts, intrigue, and the beautiful but treacherous Florida Everglades, Oliver develops a soft spot for Hannah.
