This book is not written it is crafted. Full of rich descriptions the story is fabulous, beautiful & true. She is a true genius with words. It should be assigned and studied by every aspiring writer.

A Time Recaptured
This book is a gem to be treasured and revisited, so completely and truly does it capture the essence of Africa and the people who lived in her during those magical years at the beginning of the 20th century.

Great read for Aviators, but far more...
Akin to the great accounts of that wonderful time of exploration and invention in Africa. But for the Aviators, I enjoyed it much like the wonderful "Fate Is The Hunter".

Eloquent language
I was not too interested in this woman's story, but the way it was portrayed was captivating. I loved the words, the thoughts, the descriptions. Even though I questioned some of her decisions, I was too caught up in how beautifully they were stated that I didn't really care so much about what she did. It was just so nice to hear her talk about them. It was also a story set in an unfamiliar time and place for me. That made it much more interesting.

Such a good book
I am ordering a paper copy of this book, not because I had any problem with the audio, but because I enjoyed it so much! This is so well written, I want to read it in print also. West with the Night is one of my top ten favorites of all time.

Well lived life and well written story
I enjoyed this very much, despite my general distaste for memoirs. This was a life worthy of reading about, without flash or fame, but with vigor and intensity. The writing was lively with language that brought the people, animals, culture, charm and danger of growing up and living in colonial Africa.

Pure poetry
Well not quite pure. Add wisdom and beauty. The reading too was phenomenal. My favorite audiobook by far. Enjoy it!
